La Conchiglia — Restaurant in Castrignano del Capo

This place is a joke. Firstly, pizza on the menu, but when you order it, they actually don't have pizza. Secondly, waiters they don't even listen what you want to order. The girl that took our order was really absent and it seem like she was doing us a favor. In total we were served by 3 waiters. We asked for chips with the steak, it never came, although the waiter said yes. We asked steak well done, it came back with blood in it. When we asked for the bill, the waiter didn't even bother to ask if I want to pay by card, basically a different waiter came and he was asking to pay cash as they already print the receipt as cash. My brother and I visited Santa Maria de Leuca in the off-season to see the beautiful town. No buses were running at the time, and it was impossible to find a taxi or bike from the train station in Gagliano, so we walked for an hour and a half. When we arrived, we sat down at the pretty patio at La Conchiglia and enjoyed some delicious and much needed food-both the mussels and the chicken were delicious! The family working there was so so kind. After explaining our situation in broken Italian, they went above and beyond to help us get back to Gagliano to make our train. Out of season there were only a couple of places open and we were really glad we left the one we were recommended to come here! The food was great - excellent seafood. We had an excellent tuna tartare to start then I had the soup with mussels and clams which turned out to be a huge portion of the most delicious (and piping hot!) seafood. My husband had a pizza which was also good. People around us were ordering the seafood antipasto which seemed to be plate after plate of some wonderful looking food. It was superb value (about half the price of the place we tried first nearby) and the service was friendly...
