The environment is really great, a beautiful view, and a perfect location. Regarding the food though, it was our first and only disappointment during our Italian trip. Quantities are not there, neither does quality. The fish is, for most of the menu, not fresh, despite being a fish restaurant, and it shows. The cocktails are very average as well. I wouldn’t recommend, there is much better for the same price in Santa Maria di Leuca.
EDIT: the host seems to doubt that we did have dinner here, I do appreciate the chance to provide the pictures (attached). By the way quite unprofessional to say that to a customer). One fish on the menu was indeed fresh as per the menu itself but the rest of the fish are frozen as you wrote yourself at the bottom of each page of your menu on the fish page. It would be more honest to say that, rather than saying that you only have fresh fish (photo attached). It was indeed over priced and clearly not that good. But again the view is very nice. Thank you for the staff for allowing me to confirm what I...
Read moreLido Azzurro Leuca is not a restaurant but a beach and the ones looking for restaurant should look further than this. Despite the seaview there is nothing you should come for. All the seafood was bitter and with bad smell. Just few options of second courses but later we experienced that they offered octopus from “extra menu” for italian couple on the next table. Does that mean that extra menu is only for italians? Young girl waitres experimented on us opening bottle of vine for the first time- you should not try this anymore, better buy lots of wine and open bottles at home. We were scared that cork will crack and she will split all the wine. We were having dinners and lunches in Ostuni and Alberobelo, so this was a huge difference. Lido Azzuro Leuca as restaurant is the example of what the italian food not should look like and taste!...
Read moreWe ordered 4 dishes with 4 people, 2 arrived and they said the other 2 will be 20 min late. The shrimp risotto (who was on time) tasted really sour, the octopus was small (3 tentacles of max 5cm) this for a main course. And this is happening while we were still waiting for the other 2 dishes. We asked if we could leave and pay for the food and drinks we’ve already received. They kept stalling time until the other dishes arrived. We said we don’t want it any more, but still had to pay €110,50 for 2 dishes (and 4 drinks) which is not acceptable. The waiter was really friendly and had some compassion with us, sadly the manager didn’t have that quality. Don’t come here it’s just a...
