La Rustica da Vito Bonaccorsi — Restaurant in Catania

I am so happy about finding this restaurant. They made some of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever eaten, and that at a very reasonable price! The service was very quick and nice, they even spoke a little bit of English (the necessities) so we could understand each other despite our rough Italian. The menu doesn‘t really offer options for vegetarians/vegans, so if you don‘t eat animals (or their products), this isn‘t the right place for you. The restaurant is located not far away from touristic hot spots, but still far enough to preserve Sicilian charm. I also really liked that the workers and the guests all seemed to know each other, it felt very homely and safe. There are three tables outdoors, but they are essentially placed on the street. I didn‘t mind much, because there was a protection so you didn‘t feel any wind from the cars, and the owners placed plants for further separation. The prices were very very reasonable, almost a bit low (for me as a tourist). I cannot describe in words how good the food was. I tried two main dishes with seafood. ​La Rustica in Sicily was one of the absolute best parts of my trip! This is a truly fantastic, family-run trattoria that offers delicious food and incredibly friendly service. ​The house wine was wonderful, and the food was truly amazing. We especially loved the charcoal-grilled fish and the calamari. The pasta was also absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and flavorful. ​The warmth and hospitality of this extremely friendly family-run business really made the experience special. The place is ok, the service was good. The first dish we ordered was the marinated seafood and it was excellent on its taste. The second dish was the Sea bass fillet with prawns and that was a disaster. The look and size of it ( the second photo) was not like on 12 euros. And more.. fish scales and bones were OK, like the waiter said when we asked him how is it possible?.. well, the taste of food was great, but there were several unpleasant moments to get. And in the end. The bill wasn't brought. Just the number of euros to pay....
