Fiscolo Pizzeria Mediterranea — Restaurant in Ceglie Messapica

Come (and I cannot stress this enough) here!

This will be a bit of a different kind of review, because the service was above and beyond any experience I've ever seen under ANY context.

When I first came for a long stay my phone died and I got lost. I was crying and the young man spent like an hour helping me EVERY way possible to figure out the address I'd forgotten. We not only figured it out, but he made sure to walk me home and got me there safely! The staff are such sweethearts and really didn't need to care for me this way. Tears of joy are starting as I type because of how deeply grateful I am to them. Anyway. I obviously had to try their food after such a situation. I test a place by their most basic meal because you can't hide behind flourished, complex, or fancy ingredients. For pizza restaurants, I'll always get the Margherita and go from there if I'm to return. Let me tell you, it almost didn't make the few minute walk home.

From the first bite to the last it was perfect. The quality of ingredients is at the forefront, obvious and top. The ratio, flavors, everything was well balanced. The crust was the most perfect one I've had in my 3 months traveling Italy, from the texture, flavor, and amount. I'm recovering from an eating disorder and very rarely go out or finish meals, this pizza was gone in 25 minutes. Not even crust left over. I'm going back before I leave in a couple days (that's a huge deal for me because it's a fear food). I could write so much but I'll leave it with this, the quality, quantity, speed, and service are not only optional (and literally so delicious), but definitely worth supporting. I'd give it more than 5...

Semplicemente una delle pizze più buone mai mangiate. Impasto leggero, sottile, croccante, cornicione soffice dentro e croccante fuori, ottima consistenza, la parte centrale non si affloscia come la maggior parte delle pizze, i condimenti sono di altissima qualità, sono ben studiati gli accostamenti e distribuiti con un equilibrio perfetto per dare tanto gusto ma senza coprire il sapore dell'impasto che viene così valorizzato, e finalmente una pizza che non si allaga nell'acqua della mozzarella.
