As I write this I can visualise the denials of the owner and waiter. This was our most disappointing experience in a 5 week italian trip. We have been many times to Italy and I lived here years ago. We visited rhis restaurant twice and the first experience was positive, a Saturday night and the place was full. I had delicious ravioli dello chef and my husband requested orata bit was told there wasn't any so he had spigola and enjoyed it. We only drank half our bottle so they kept it and we decided to return on the following night again. What a disappointment! Magically we were told there was 1 orata left so my husband decided on it. Now I KNOW that the menu states that the local fish is listed as " from €7 per hectogram"( incidentally not a weight used in most English speaking countries)and that Gerardo did tell us the weight of it. I suggest guys the honest thing to do is to tell the customer" that fish will be approx €40" and then see if they still want to eat it instead of expecting a non Italian customer who is out for a meal to start doing mathematical calculations! To make matters worse, Gerardo advised that it would take a while to cook the fish so maybe we might need a starter. This was one burnt piece of bread divided and served as tasteless bruschetta which I wanted to send back but my husband was hungry so decided to eat it. The same ravioli I had the night before were in a glutinous sauce this time that was lukewarm and by the time they had cleaned my husband's fish, was almost cold and was just average in taste. By the way, my husband ate a large oven cooked orata with prawns, clams and an abundance of tasty potato in a restaurant in Agropoli a few nights later. It was €30 and he was very happy to pay it as it was both delicious and abundant. There were 3 others tables occupied in DegusTiAmo that Sunday night and rap type music that didn't do much for the atmosphere. To conclude, after chatting to Gerardo the night before and being greeted so warmly we could not believe that our second visit was so disappointing and annoying. There are much better places to eat in Palinuro and thankfully on the advice of locals, we had a chance to visit them and experience GENUINE Cilento hospitality and food. We let them know how ripped off we felt and have since christened it...
Read moreSeeing such great reviews, we hoped for a delicious meal but unfortunately we were really disappointed it was just OK. Anchovies were nice but the potatoes that were supposed to be baked, tasted like a boiled potato that was for in an oven for 2 minutes. My boyfriend ordered a local fish wich was served barely warm and bland. Salad as a side was also boring and it didn’t have even arugula as claimed on the menu. Seasoning of all dishes was lacking. Server was quite intrusive and we didn’t feel...

Cari esercenti ribellatevi a questi finti operatori turistici.
