This restaurant was not our first choice but we landed here because the other places where we wanted to go didn't have a place for us. All in all our stay was not really enjoyable, not because of the food (which in reality was nice) but because of the service. The waitress (which seemed to be the owner of the place) was stressed and unfriendly to guests and employees. This created a rather uncomfortable environment. I guess, if you are overwhelmed by the amount of work and not able to get employees you could simply reduce the amount of tables and not blame politics (what she did). First of all the negative reviews are absolutely wrong, this restaurant is one of the best, if not it is the best in Chiavari. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. Each dish and the ingredients that the chef uses are very different, especially cooking with whatever is in season at the time. The owner is lovely and does speak English as well. My husband and I brought three other couples for a special birthday dinner and everyone was so amazed at the food and the homemade desserts. Abbiamo lasciato il posto da soli 5 minuti ,ma da buongustai quali siamo vogliamo riportare il nostro parere. Solitamente prima di entrare in un ristorante , siamo soliti leggere le recensioni.. in questo caso quasi tutte erano positive, ma noi logicamente facciamo affidamento su quelle negative. Oggi abbiamo voluto provare alla cieca ascoltando commenti di passanti che la ritraevano come Osteria storica per eccellenza nonostante sul web vengano riportati come migliori ristoranti di Chiavari varie pizzerie...non ci dilunghiamo.. Abbiamo due bimbe( 6 anni una e 22 mesi l'altra) entrambe abituate a mangiare cibi sani e di qualità. Entrati, il cameriere ci ha accolti gradevolmente, preparando subito il seggiolino per la piccola con tanto di bicchiere apposito per bimbi e bavagliolo.. Abbiamo ordinato due antipasti di pesce, ossia polpo in insalata alla Udria e alici al limone per me e mio marito..eccellenti, adagiati su un letto di verdure miste..tutto freschissimo. Per le bimbe abbiamo ordinato minestrone alla ligure e lasagne al pesto. Buonissimi entrambi..il pesto lo avevano appena fatto..i secondi sono i seguenti: Rombo al forno compreso di contorni( carciofi di ottima qualità.), che dire...delicatissimo al palato, arrosto cotto in forno a legna con patate..davvero buono..le bimbe hanno gradito tutto. Vino bianco leggermente frizzante della casa molto valido( altrimenti avrei già mal di testa). Acqua, caffè...massima cortesia e attenzione. Locale pulito, tranquillo riservato.
