Pizzeria la Grotta — Restaurant in Chiavari

Pizza was okay nothing too special but alright. The place is nice to sit (lots of outside seating where you can observe people and the surroundings)…but the service was terrible. We were served some pre food treat that clearly had eggs. We asked if it did but the waiter didn’t seem to care much and just said no. For us it wasn’t too bad but people with allergies could get into trouble.

The most annoying part was that we felt quite scammed though.

We had 2 pizza Manuela where we even opted out of the mozzarella (8,5€ each on the menu), one Marinara (5€) a litre of water (3,5€) and a small water (1€)

It should’ve been 27,5€ we ended up paying 35€. I asked for the receipt to see if we had overlooked some sort of service fee but I didn’t get the receipt with listed items just the one for the credit card. Another one was „not available“

Locale da denuncia – una vergogna!

Siamo stati alla Grotta di Chiavari e, fortunatamente, ci siamo seduti all’esterno. Non abbiamo mangiato nulla Carne fetida, calamarata di pesce a dir poco disgustosa, condita con olio strausato e nauseabondo. Mai vista una situazione simile: da star male solo all’odore. Un pericolo per la salute!!! Entrando per pagare, ci siamo trovati davanti a uno spettacolo a dir poco raccapricciante. Non fatevi illudere dalle foto ! L’interno del locale è impregnato da una puzza nauseabonda, segno evidente di scarse condizioni igieniche. La cucina, visibile in parte, mostrava una friggitrice incrostata di nero, probabilmente mai pulita negli ultimi 20 anni. L’odore dell’olio bruciato e la carne lasciata all’aria con un fetore tremendo parlavano da soli: cibo a rischio sanitario. A quel punto era chiaro che non avremmo toccato nulla, ma ormai avevamo ordinato. Col senno di poi, non avremmo dovuto nemmeno sederci. Se avessi visto prima l’interno, sarei fuggito a gambe levate. Un posto così andrebbe chiuso immediatamente, altamente pericoloso per la salute pubblica. Mi auguro un tempestivo intervento dei NAS, perché quello non è un ristorante: è una trappola igienico-sanitaria.

Sconsigliatissimo. Evitatelo...

The food and service were both excellent from start to finish. We especially enjoyed the anchovies and the spaghetti con vongole – both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Our daughter had a pizza, which she loved – perfectly baked with a great crust and fresh ingridients.
