Osteria San Marco — Restaurant in Chivasso

My husband and I had lunch and as we were sharing two different pasta courses I asked if they could already put half portion of each pasta in our plates. The waiter told me it was not possible but went to ask the chef anyway. We were sitting outside and just below the kitchen window which was opened so unfortunately we heard she asking and the rude answer of the chef who shouted we could do it ourselves if we wanted. It was awkward and embarrassing and I suddenly lost my appetite. So much for temperamental chefs, I would say that it's out of fashion but they insist on their arrogance. When the plates arrived I understood why it was not possible to divide the portions, the two different pastas came in plates with different shapes, fancily decorated. Una bomboniera di buon gusto, non solo in tavola, ma nella cura attenta ed amorevole di ogni dettaglio che compone l'ambiente dedicato ad accogliere l' Ospite, piuttosto che il cliente. Entri e sei subito circondato dalle attenzioni di chi è lì ad accoglierti. Nulla di artefatto o forzato, ma una schietta e cordiale accoglienza a cui fa seguito la attenzione sempre presente, ma mai invadente, durante tutto il tempo della tua permanenza. Mentre pensi cosa potrebbe mancarti, qualcuno te lo sta servendo in tavola. Lo Chef sa perfettamente interpretare il concetto di Arte culinaria, unendo magistralmente la elevata qualità dei cibi al buon gusto di una presentazione sobria, ma contemporaneamente gradevole e sofisticata. La cantina offre un valido supporto con le sue pregiate presenze. Abbiamo apprezzato una eccellente Bonarda dell' oltrepò pavese ed uno straordinario Moscato. Quando si arriva al conto, scopri che anche questo fa parte delle piacevoli sorprese. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo è competitivo con quello di altre realtà con molte più pretese. Stumbled upon it looking for a restaurant on our way from Milan to Geneva. Took a detour as something compelled us to come here. Now I will drive over to Italy just to dine here again! The food is truly a work of art and extremely delicious, filling. More than reasonable price. The atmosphere is charming, cosy, welcoming.
