I’ve just had one of the best meals I can remember at Enoteca De Feo. The hostess was lovely and welcoming, the food was incredible and the wine divine. I know it isn’t really tourist season here at the moment (a Thursday in late October) but I was shocked to have the place mostly to myself. I’d be beating down the door if I come back to Cividale del Friuli - and I hope I do.
The chef made beautiful use of the season’s mushrooms along with house made tagliatelle. I also ordered the beef belly , which was exquisite, even if it did take me an hour to get through (most of) it. I had a side of garlicky flavorful chicory which knocked my socks off. I enjoyed a lovely red made from local grapes which helped to cut through the richness of the beef. I finished with a light lemon sorbetto, sitting in a bit of herbal liqueur. Heaven.
I’ll also mention that the ambiance was perfect. There was a thunderstorm happening outside, and soft music playing inside, which made it perfect to enjoy my book as I dined as I often do when traveling solo.

Read morefriends from Melbourne visited us in Cividale, and we brought them to one of our favorite spots. We’ve dined here many times and it never disappoints.
The complimentary appetizer was sun-dried tomatoes with olive pâté — full of flavor and not too salty. I had the “Fettuccine all’uovo con tartufo fresco di Acqualagna” fettuccine with fresh truffle handmade, flavorful, and generous with truffle.
My husband and friend ordered the “Lombatello di Chianina al ferri”beef perfectly cooked and very tender. Another friend tried “Gnocchi di patate con ragout di oca e profumo di agrumi”the gnocchi with goose ragù and citrus a great, well balanced combination.
Always a satisfying experience here. Highly...
Read moreWe had a very pleasant experience at De Feo Enoteca Ristorante. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was well-prepared with good flavours. The local wine selection was a highlight – a great way to enjoy the regional taste of Friuli.
Prices are reasonable for the quality, averaging around €20 per person or more, and the portions, while on the smaller side, were satisfying. The only downside was the bread, which was unfortunately dry and not of the same quality as the rest of the meal.
Overall, a cosy place to enjoy good food, nice wine, and welcoming service in the heart...
