I often come to Colico, because I have a friend here, and with regret I can't find a good restaurant. I thought it was this, as the rating says, but I was partly wrong. The food is good I mean, but there are no typical local dishes, something is there but it is not enough for me that I would not like to eat parmigiana in Colico. But the real problem is that these dishes are reinvented by the chef, which is fine, but in some cases I found it excessive, for example my fillet of Angus placed on a bed of potatoes and covered. I would have preferred something cleaner. The service is good, young, kind and capable girls. The wine list is up to par. The location is not particularly beautiful. I would have seen this place well in an alternative Milan rather than in a retro neighborhood of Colico, especially considering the costs that I found, as usual in Colico, exaggerated. Evidently here we are affected by northern European tourism, prices are rising but the quality is not in the Italian average. In other words, at these costs, I am used to a much better quality.

This is a review about the hotel restaurant (we were staying elsewhere), and our experience there was an absolute delight. I booked the restaurant for a celebratory dinner with my partner, and from start to finish, everything was phenomenal. Between us, we had the truffle egg dish (divine!), the seafood starter, the perch (fish) main, the veal main, and the tiramisu and pistachio desserts. The wine was excellent, as was the coffee, and the service was faultless - friendly, professional and very efficient. All in all, we had fantastic, top quality food at a great location, and I couldn't fault a thing. Highly recommended!

We went for a nice dinner as a couple and the food was good.... But..... When we ordered drinks we asked for a half bottle, because we had to drive home and the waiter, instead of understanding that we didn't feel like getting drunk with our meal and potentially losing our license for driving after drinking a bottle of wine he implied multiple times that we were just looking for a cheap option and that we were poor... He then proceeded to tell us what wines we could order, because they only had a few wines that were on the menu... Then the food order... We wanted to share a starter, but again, the implication that we couldn't afford two plates of food... Then the main order... I was not brought what I ordered (the vegetarian ravioli), but was brought the ravioli with anchovies. I should have pointed out that I'm vegetarian, but figured that I didn't need to disclose that and just order vegetarian things off the menu.... I didn't realize that it was the wrong dish that was brought until I had already eaten one raviolo and thought it was odd that it tasted fishy... I gave the plate to my wife to finish as I didn't feel like dealing with the waiter who had already been rude to us and had yelled across the restaurant at the other waiter who was there. When we left the waiter asked if the food was good and we said yes, but I said that if there is fish in something it should probably say it on the menu (I didn't realize he had sent the wrong order to the kitchen at this point)... He offered to show me the menu where it said it had fish, but he didn't actually get the menu. I went to get the car and my wife asked to see the menu to see if maybe I looked at the menu wrong. No, he just brought the wrong dish and then proceeded to argue with her, him saying that that's what I ordered. The food was good, the wine was good, but the waiter was pretty awful. (And no... We're not tourists, we live here and we're Italian... I just don't like writing...

We had a lovely stay at the Locanda Capolago, and would highly recommend it. We stayed here one night after our trip on the Bernini Express from Switzerland. The location is particularly good for anyone coming by train, just a five minute walk from the train station, and still not too far to walk to the lake foreshore. ||||The inn itself was lovely, newly renovated and with beautiful wallpaper in each room, very comfortable beds, and excellent bathrooms. We booked two two-bedroom suites, and the only thing to be aware is that in one of the suites (the Bellagio), the second bedroom is directly off the first bedroom. This would be fine for kids, but for adults, it means that the only access to the bathroom is through the first bedroom. The other suite had a corridor between the bedrooms and bathroom. There was also a pleasant sitting room that all guests had access to.||||We had a good breakfast served in the restaurant, which was included in the price. We also chose to eat dinner in the restaurant, and did not regret it. The food was delicious, and included a number of different seafood dishes, beautiful handmade pasta, and other meat dishes. Highlights included the special fish soup, and the veal. All served by friendly staff in the cosy surrounds of the renovated restaurant. There was also a lovely outdoor terrace, which would be very good in warm and...
