La Capannina Pizza and Grill — Restaurant in Comunità Alto Garda e Ledro

We have probably arrived at the wrong time (it was way too busy) but as we had long day driving, we had not much choice

Nobody was greeting us in front of the house (and it’s very hard to find front of the house in this restaurant) we were standing there for 5 minutes with all staff just passing by, without one of them asking what are we waiting for- that felt very unwelcoming

Once we have sat down (we had one of the worst tables, right next to the kitchen), we have waited for a while to order our drinks.

When the wine and food arrived, it made up for everything, as it was really good. The tomahawk steak was cooked beautifully and my fish board was nice too. For desert we had milfei sort of thing and it was really tasty.

So overall, it would be nice if we can be treated with more...

The carbonara, for me, was the best one I’ve had so far. No salt needed, no pepper needed, the balance of the guanciale with the egg sauce simply amazing. I had a glass of local amazing, delicious Rose, forgot the name, but ask the waiters for the local one, worth it. For dessert I had the chocolate brownie with molten chocolate lava on in the inside and it came with a scoop of ice cold vanilla ice cream - it’s a 10’ner. The most beautiful thing though is the location - those Mediterranean gardens with the ponds are beautiful. The restaurant is part of a complex called Du Parc et Du Lac hotel. Give it a go and enjoy the gardens and the restaurant. Oh, we had no reservation and got a table pretty fast...

Great food for a fancy night out, though honestly I prefer the Aria restaurant right next to it. You absolutely need a reservation for this place, at least morning of, if not a day in advance. The location is beautiful - right inside of the Du Lac hotel with its wonderful lush grounds. The service was good, though a bit inexperienced. I really enjoyed the cured meat and burrata appetizer, and my tuna entree was pretty good. The warm chocolate torte dessert was incredible, definitely don't skip over dessert. Prices are high but that's expected of this place.

During the day they have a different menu and some to-go items which are really nice for a quick bite or a quick gelato...
