Ristorante Birrificio 1816 — Restaurant in Comunità montana Alta Valtellina

We were at this restaurant on 9 January 2023. Although the quality of the food was good and the restaurant is nice, my experience at this restaurant was spoilt by the horrific service we received. Our waitress was insolent and unpleasant. She brought food to the table, asked whose food it was, and before we could even answer, she practically threw the food on the table without anyone accepting it. When I pointed out that that is not how it should be done, she got very rude about it. When my food arrived, it did not have the potato rosti which I ordered with it. I informed her about it and her response was “we don’t serve that so I don’t know who told you that we do”. So I went to the waitress who I originally placed the order with and she confirmed that I did indeed order the potato rosti. She went to the kitchen and then brought it out to me. The rude waitress wouldn’t give me her name but upon further investigation, it was revealed by other staff that she is the owner’s daughter and that she is always impolite and disrespectful to customers. This speaks for itself, as no person with this attitude would qualify for the job on their own merits. The solution here would be to remove the daughter, as she is giving the restaurant, and the other waitresses a bad name. The service ruined our night and our experience of the restaurant overall. We have been in Livigno numerous times. We always come here for a great beer and a pizza. Staff is always the same - very busy, no smile, it takes long to order although once ordered, food and drinks are on the table within couple of minutes. This week we went there twice and it was the worst service I ve recieved ever. First day - again took a while to order, forgot beers, brought later after reminding. Stuff without emotions. Second time we went there without reservation, asked if they have table and they did. We had one round of beers and pizza. And then we were waiting for 25 minutes for waitress to come so we could order another round, one minute later, before they even brought the beers, another waiter came to tell us he needs the table in 10 minutes. We wouldnt have problem with that if we didnt have to wait such a long time to be able to order (were sitting right in front of the counter). And last thing I dont like, especially with service like this, that they include service fee already in the bill. Dont get me wrong, it is common in UK in restaurants, but if there is anything wrong and you question it, you always get the care you expect. I would preffer to be able to tip how much I want and how I feel it. In this restaurant it would be...

I brought the the whole family here for an interesting meal with local crafted beer. After many years of beer interest I really looked forward to this. I recognized the equipment coming from Schultz in Bamberg and it looked impressive. So when I ordered a Trippel Belgium style beer I was very excited. .... But my first taste was very sour ... Like a bad brew or an unclean bottle... Ok .. no problem. Then I asked for a new, since it was undrinkable. The waiter thought I was annoying but reluctantly came with a new one. I tasted that one and it was the same .. smelled like the piss of a Fox.

We have all ordered food at the same time. I ordered spareribs and the family pizza. First I got my food... And I waited ... And waited for my family's food to come ... But I had to start else it got cold. ... The spareribs was so over cooked I had to chew hard on that it would have been a help to have some real good beer to help it on the way. I'm not kidding... I don't believe how it's possible to kill this meat like this. 10min later the food of my family came, it was 3 different pizzas and they were good.

So my final rating is 2 stars... For a nice setting and ok pizzas.
