Verso — Restaurant in Conversano

I deeply regret going into that restaurant and I am usually not leaving reviews.. Went there with family members, one of the only restaurants still opened last Sunday at 1.30pm. Overall I must say that prices are quite high compared to what I am used to in Puglia (I live in Bari) so I was expecting great food. Just for info, copperto is very high, 3.50 per person if I remember well. The little appetizer was good but then we all took pasta as a main dish and they were not cooked.. I like al dente pasta but this was clearly undercooked, and this was the same for the 4 different pasta plates we took. For the price, I was expecting better than undercooked pasta with a basic tomato sauce.. But the worst is coming: my sister noticed after eating for 10min a piece of ceramic in her burrata.. She thought it was burrata and understood something was wrong when trying to chew it in her mouth. We had heard something breaking in the kitchen about 20 min before but we did not expect to find it in our plates.. We informed straight away the waiters, they took the plate away but never offered to replace it. One waitress came to ask if my sister did not get hurt but that is it, they kept serving as if nothing happened.. They removed the price of the dish from the final bill (without telling us anything) but no apologies, nothing. Ci rechiamo qui per un consiglio datoci da un passante di età avanzata, su dove poter fare una buona colazione in zona, anzi abbiamo chiesto dove poter fare la migliore colazione della zona. Questo signore molto cortese ci ha indicato questo bar. In una posizione ottima, appena siamo arrivati intanto ci ha stupito il fatto che non vi fosse nessuno ai tavoli numerosi all'esterno, e dentro quasi altrettanto nessuno. Già questo non è un buon segnale, soprattutto per un locale in una posizione strategica e in un orario in cui tutti fanno colazione solitamente. La signora cameriera che ci ha accolti aveva purtroppo un atteggiamento di finta cortesia e insincera accoglienza, che ci ha dato notevole fastidio sia all'inizio sia alla fine della nostra visita, peraltro confermando questa cattiva impressione col chiacchierare all'interno del locale a voce neanche bassa, tant'è che l'abbiamo ascoltata benissimo dall'esterno, criticando irrispettosamente le nostre scelte e mancate scelte per la colazione, cosa del tutto sgradevole e indicativa di una scarsa, se non inesistente, cortesia e delicatezza nei confronti della Clientela, già pochissima, come se non le fosse gradita la presenza di Clienti. All'interno, quelli che sembravano i titolari, persone cortesi e disponibili, ci hanno mostrato le cose disponibili per la colazione: non c'era una buona scelta di paste o simili, le uniche cose un po' diverse e artigianali parevano i pasticciotti, ne abbiamo assaggiato uno, con due caffè, nulla di che, abbiamo assaggiato pasticciotti molto migliori. Alla fine purtroppo la nostra esperienza non è stata positiva, si spera che il locale possa cambiare in meglio, visto che dispone di una collocazione a dir poco invidiabile. While a nice looking place, service competence is zero on a Sunday morning. The place was full. One lady doing the service outside, completely inefficient and telling everyone they need to wait rather than actually speeding up.

Never seen such low gastronomic competence in an Italian bar. Hopefully this is a one off, and not the norm. Half of all tables were waiting to even order. We were baffled and left after 20 minutes of trying to have the waitress take our order.
