In an ocean of tourist traps and grumpy people, this place is an absolute breath of fresh air.
The cafe is wonderful, has amazing coffee, great food, even little candies and unique souvenirs! We got a few friendship bracelets and gifts to bring home with us, and the breakfast was perfect. I liked that they took the time to describe all the options and ingredients to us so we knew what we were ordering. They have a nice enclosed veranda with tables to sit at and decorated with plants. Plenty of room if you’re coming with luggage.
But true highlight is its incredible owner, Bianco! He is hilarious, unbelievably good energy, and made our trip unforgettable.
When my family and I missed the last bus of the night to go back up to Cortona, he didn’t hesitate to give us a ride to our hotel himself 😭
The next day we came back and he remembered each one of us by name!! We came back to visit him several times.
He gave us maps and tips that made exploring the area so much easier, and even helped us look up our train information and orient us in the train platform when it was finally time to leave. His warmth and generosity truly went above and beyond – we left with full hearts (and big smiles!). If you visit, don’t miss the chance to enjoy this amazing cafe and...
Read moreMake sure you stop in Bar la Stazione when you get off the train in Camucia. The owner, Bianco, is such a nice man and great at customer service. We got to know him a little bit during our week in the area. This location has coffee and pastries available for breakfast and also has other items you may need.
Also, Bar la Stazione prepares meals that can be picked up for dinner! We took advantage of this and ordered dinner for one evening. This was great after being out all day. We picked it up, took it back to our villa, warmed in the oven for a few minutes and then ate. It was plenty of food and it was really good. Be sure to order early in the morning or the day before. We used WhatsApp to communicate with him for our order and arrange a pick up time.
Bianco really became a friend to us and we were sure to stop in and tell him goodbye and to take some photos together before we left. He also checked in with us when we departed from Camucia for Rome later that evening just to see how our travels were. I will be sending anyone and everyone I know his way if they are going to the area and I hope to be back...
Read moreI stayed in Cortona for 3 months and almost daily visited Bianco and Keti cafe for a coffee and sandwich or croissant for breakfast before catching the train to explore another region of Italy, from the train station which is beside the cafe !! The hosts Bianco and Keti could not have been more welcoming, from my first encounter they made me feel at home every time I entered their Cafe / Bar. They sell Train and Bus in house and can advise on the best options to reach your destination, they also arrange taxi services for you if required, speaking on your behalf with local drivers. It was always a plus for me after returning from exploring this beautiful region, to be able to enjoy a Cold Beer or Wine at great prices and then only having to walk several metres to catch the bus up to Cortona!!
