We (1 couple with a dog) arrived around 7.30pm. We had no reservation and were asked to sit at a table just next to the street. We accepted. When we ordered drinks we also asked for some water for the dog. The waiter let us know that he loves dogs, but is very busy. The drinks came with approximately 250ml water for the dog in a glas char from which the water was refilled to a dog’s bowl. The dog finished the water before the waiter could leave the table. Asking for more we got informed that the waiter is busy but loves dogs. We got some bred with olive oil. After 15 minutes we got our starters (tunar tartare and shrimps) both fine. We finished them and shortly after the dishes were removed from our table. After 15 minutes the waiter took our olive oil bottle and the pepper mill with the words “I steel them for a minute “ from our table and used it for a neighbor table where 2 people just sat down. The bottle/pepper mill did not find his way back so we asked the waitress if we could again get some olive oil. She apologized and immediately provided us with a fresh bottle of olive oil an a pepper mill. After approximately 20 minutes waiter took our bread away… without any comments. Then he came again and took the bowl of our dog (which we refilled with water in the meantime) and throw away that water and refilled it with other water without any comments. After 1 h we got our main dish and a fresh breadbasket (we had potatoes as a side dish and did not need any bread). Because it was then so late at night I was not hungry any more and instead I finished the bottle of wine (Laguna - delicious ). My husband could at least finish his gambas. We asked the waiter to pack the the potato’s and my tuna (ok - but I had better ones) for take away. He left 2 used limoncello glasses on our table and took our dishes away. Then he came back with the bill and 2 filled Limoncello glases with the excuse that our today’s experience might not have been the best, but that’s the only thing he can do for us. We finished the Limoncello an put our 2 glasses on top of the other 2 he left earlier on our table. Then the take away box came and we left. FAZIT: we will never come back again. The processes in that restaurant and the communication towards customers is too weird and we will never understand why the neighbors table deserves olive oil and we not, or bread for the waiting time is not needed, but for the second course which is already accompanied by carb and why our table has to function as a waste dish table for used/finished Limoncello glasses or tab water for the dog has to be exchanged for...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if I could. Food was tasteless and 2 of 4 people dining with me got sick. The worst part of the experience was an EXTREMELY RUDE waiter who yelled at me because when I stood up from my chair to go to the bathroom I got in his way (one of those situations where you are trying to go somewhere, but then you stand in front of a person and you say “excuse me” or “sorry” and you go right and the person goes left). It happens to all of us all the time. This waiter (out of the blue) started yelling at me that he was working and he had priority to pass. Simply unbelievable. I was even afraid of reporting the issue to the manager, since I did not know what the guy could do against us at that moment. It was again unbelievable that somebody would stress over such a silly thing, specially if you are dealing with people all the time. I was even afraid that he was mentally unstable. I decided not to report, but I feel the obligation to warn future potencial customers that you could have a similar horrible experience if you bump into this individual in this restaurant during your stay in Domaso.
UPDATE: I see the reply from the restaurant, basically taking the easy way, and saying that what I reported was not true. Why in the world would I waste my time reporting something that did not happen? But this response is typical of places that are bad managed. Deny the issues, not acknowledge and correct them and move...
Read moreWe have spent some great quality time around Como Lake. Unfortunately, we would not say so about our rather short stay at this eatery. As we have only arrived at the restaurant, a very expressive young waiter greeted us with "Hi MY FRIEND, you gotta ask first before getting yourself a place here." I fully understand that the restaurant culture of being escorted to the table might differ from place to place or country to country, though the tone at which we were addressed was nothing but hostile. A waiter brought the attention of all the people around to us, which has made us feel.. well, you would understand.
However, we stayed there as guests and ordered some food for which we had to wait quite some time and the quality of which imho must be reviewed. The only thing positive we found during our stay was a rose wine that we have ordered and genuinely enjoyed. Hope our short note will help you improve, although the hostility of this eatery seems to me rather...
