Restaurant Apostelstube — Restaurant in Eisacktal - Valle Isarco

We happened to read that the hotel where we were staying in Bressanone (Brixen) had a Michelin Star restaurant. We tried to get reservations, but they were booked. (They are only open on weekends, and they only have 4 tables!) We were disappointed, but then delighted the next day when we learned that someone had cancelled. We nabbed it, and we were SO glad that we did. There was a menu that perfectly fit the story of the hotel and its name. We began with a tasting of four appetizers while we were told the story of Soliman, the elephant, who came through Bressanone in the 1500s. Everything was SO delicious! Each course was more amazing than the next. The highlight was a small serving of Japanese wagyu beef. I had heard of it, but never tasted it. It was amazing. Il ristorante stellato di Bressanone, nel bellissimo Hotel Elephant, mi ha stupito positivamente. Un solo menu degustazione, che inizia con un bell'aperitivo nel loro giardino e prosegue nella saletta, intima ed elegante. Sapori davvero fantastici, l'influsso della cucina orientale è molto evidente ma ben bilanciato con l'uso dei prodotti locali. Il piatto con la rana pescatrice mi rimarrà impresso a lungo, un equilibrio fantastico. Nessun piatto non mi è piaciuto, dolci inclusi che sono molto eleganti e bilanciati. Burro BUONISSIMO. Servizio adeguato ma informale. Prezzo buono considerato il numero delle portate e la complessità. Nel complesso, forse uno dei migliori pasti che ho fatto finora. Un inizio strepitoso per il giro dei ristoranti di fine dining della zona, non so se troverò di meglio a mio gusto. Unico appunto: mi sarebbe piaciuto un poggiaborsa anche nel giardino, con quelle sedie è davvero scomodo...
