Went here to conclude our trip to Italy. I regularly visit Brixen but this is the first time I ever went there, however it will certainly not be the last.
The selection of food ranges from classic and artisanal burgers to wraps and finally pizza, with the latter absolutely being the hero of the place. In addition to the classic dough we were able to choose our pie to be made out of kamut, a grain with more minerals and way higher protein content than your regular pizza flour or as a low carb variant using different protein substitutes and fibre. As someone who tries to watch the details of their diet out of health, sports and general nutritional reasons, these options made this local pizza place a much more approachable option.
We opted for kamut option, as to our waitress' suggestion, and were astonished as to the amazing taste and look of our pizza. You could tell and taste that every individual ingredient was treated with care and it was a almost a shame biting into the last piece.
Our waitress Giulia was very knowledgeable on the subject of the different doughs and did not hesitate for a second to ask the pizzaiolo for more detailed information. She was very helpful and happy to see to our inquiries.
The restaurant itself is located at a small corner at the entrance to Millan and even contains a cozy little backyard, tucked away behind the interior that was very inviting and transports you into a comfortable and welcoming 'microcosm'. You could hardly tell we were still in Brixen and yet it was beautiful in its very own special way.
So far the best pizza I ever had and this place stands as a superb choice to anyone else who enjoys a delicious, well made pizza. May it be with thought put behind your diet for your personal goals (or limitations) or to simply have an...
Read moreWe were looking forward to dine there based on their website and the information they provide (eg their pride in making their own pasta).
However, the dining experience was just average. The starter (Gambari) was nice but was immediately followed by the main course of my wife (Tagliatelle porcini).
That was a huge portion of pasta however the taste was very bland and simple.
Now if the main course for one person comes one would assume that the main course for the second person would arrive soon as well. However, nothing happened. I sat there watching my wife eat. After almost 15 minutes I asked about the status of my main course and was told it’s almost finished and it arrived shortly afterwards.
The ravioli burrata was not only about a quarter size of my wife’s portion but equally tasteless. I still wonder how little burrata was used.
We noticed that many guests ordered pizza, so maybe we ordered the wrong food however given their website’s presentation they would specialize in local meals of pasta.
Not recommended, especially not for the...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant, with a clear preference for money making, tourist trap? but easily redeemable. The tagliata and fillet were of low quality. The canerderli were outstanding. For the price, table cloth service should have been expected. All the dishes were served at different times. One guest received their meal after all of us were finished. Worst no apology was given until we raised the issue. Some empathy would have been a minimum, and top service, that was more concerned with quality and reputation than making an extra $, would have not charged for that meal. Some staff training but more importantly, some heart versus money led ownership and this could be a 5...
