Ristorante La Maison - Pizza e Pesce — Restaurant in Empoli

We eat here last Friday evening. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. We eat as a family of 4 and 2 young children. We all had different pizzas and each one was cooked perfectly and the right balance of fresh and great quality ingredients! Unfortunately we could not stay for long as we were meeting friends, but the owner came over and wanted to personally check we were ok and we were happy with our meals. This was a very nice touch and a shame we could not take him up on an offer of a limoncello or coffee as we had to rush off. Hence I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the staff and owner on a pleasant meal and lovely evening.

Two days later I found out that the owners are originally from Basilicata which is where I am from originally. Which part of Basilicata...

This was the best food my boyfriend and I have had in Italy and we have been here for a few months! We got the Tropea Pizza Bianca as well as the special of the day, Gnocchi con zucca. The bread we received was the best we have ever had; just a hint of salt and so soft. The white pizza was divine: a beautiful balance of sweet caramelized onions with the more savory sausage and a very fresh, creamy burrata. The gnocchi was delicious. The staff was incredibly pleasant and very attentive! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very relaxing and lovely. I would take the train to Empoli every day to eat...

Trying really hard to be something but don’t have the basics in check. I had the vongole. Tasted like nothing. Only salt. No balance. One of my favorite pastas. This was a shame. I obviously sent it back. They had three waiters ask me why I didn’t like it?? It was a huge problem for them.
