This is not a restaurant-pizzeria. It is a restaurant. And it specialises in typical hearty ferrarese food. It is magnificent. I was with a group of friends on New Year's Eve. Most people chose two courses from appetiser/starter/main course + side dish and with different wines galore then coffees we ended up paying €30 each. Considering the restaurant is in the Old Town of Ferrara and considering restaurant prices in Italy on New Year's Eve can easily triple, the price was eminently reasonable. I went for a mixture of cold sliced meats as an appetiser followed by a huge "cotoletta bassotta" steak + beans as a side. Giacomo, Pietro & Paola who run the restaurant are also extremely friendly, wonderful human beings.

Loved the pumpkin gnocchi...I've never had any gnocchi like this before. Amazing We also ordered the ragu gnocchi and linguine and both were really good. The chicken cottoletto was breaded chicken with 4 cheese sauce and prosciutto...very rich and filling. Overall quality is really good Owner is very friendly and recommended dishes for us to try Would definitely return if I'm ever in city again.

Devo dire che questo locale non mi ha del tutto entusiasmato anche se il cibo è stato tutto sommato buono. Eravamo in due, abbiamo preso pinzini con affettati, c'erano si e no 10 pinzini per due persone e 4 fette a testa di affettati al prezzo di 9 euro l'uno... un po' troppo a mio parere in rapporto alle quantità. Poi una cotoletta i bassotti (fritta con sopra una fetta di prosciutto crudo e formaggio fuso) che non era male e una grigliata mista al prezzo di 15 euro l'una. Poi due contorni di patate al forno portati in un unico piatto che a me è sembrato il quantitativo di una porzione e non due. Per finire un quartino di vino, una bottiglia d'acqua e due caffè per un totale di 60 euro. Nel complesso il cibo è buono ma non eccezionale, prezzo nella media anche se in rapporto al quantitativo di alcune portate ritengo sia un po' troppo. Il locale è un po' rumoroso, si fa fatica a comunicare. Il personale è promosso, in particolare il proprietario è una persona molto simpatica e disponibile.

W turned shortly before opening time, on spec, and were welcomed and given a table straight away. We had a superb meal, the plate on salami was superb for us both, and we both had the pork steaks with mustard sauce, plus grilled veg and a side salad. No space for desert. All the wines were available by the glass, and with cover, water and coffee the total bill was only 70 Euros. Amazing value for wonderful food and great service. Thoroughly...
