Initially coming in the restaurant we were told there was no space, even though many tables were available. The manager told us to try somewhere else because we’d be waiting 1 hour for a table. We had just come back from qc spa and this was the closest decent restaurant everywhere else was also closing early and waiting for another Uber was not an option as we are all tired and hungry. I would’ve gone somewhere else but my sister is diabetic and she couldn’t wait honestly. The table they said would take an hour left immediately and that’s when I walked back in and said I would like the table those people just left from. Honestly the food here was really good, I’d be lying if I said it was bad but what was bad and still shocking to me was how terrible the customer service was. I’m a tourist here on vacation and I felt much hostility when I walked into this restaurant, also considering we were the only black people in the entire restaurant. The waiters were very rude, they ignored us. We placed our orders before other bigger tables had and they served their food immediately while we were waiting almost 45 minutes for our starters. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was nice (slightly cold but it was still good) but we could feel that we were unwanted. The waiters also kept replacing eachother which is confusing considering we are not difficult customers, I was smiling at the waiteress but she was screwing her face up when I asked if they had buffalo mozzarella on the menu. All in all it was a horrible experience would never be coming again. I also come from a culture of tipping my waiter 20% which I chose to for go on this occasion which frankly was very disappointing as most restaurants that I had been to in Rome have been lovely but this one was horrid. I kindly request all staff have equality or racial bias training. I do have to note however the gentlemen at the till when time to pay was kind he was the only exception for...
Read moreExtremely bad service. A lot of the waiters did not speak English (at an airport hotel!)
The menu card was a QR code. We had left our phones at our hotel rooms, except for one of us. They did not have a paper menu card so we had to take turns looking at one phone.
My husband ordered bread with his salad. It never came.
My son ordered a steak. They didn’t ask how it should be cooked, and he forgot to mention. It came back more or less rare. They took it back to the kitchen. And fried it again!! He got the exact same steak back. Even the corner he had cut off was on the plate - now extra fried! The waiter didn’t know to put a steak knife on our table even though they were placed just behind us on a shelf.
They didn’t tidy our table for plates after our first course before they came with the main courses.
They asked if we wanted dessert before my husband had his main course.
My husband waited 45 minutes for a pizza margarita. The rest of us were all long done with our main courses.
Worst tiramisu I have ever tasted.
Furthermore, the restaurant was far from full. There were at least 5-6 waiters on the floor. Plus 2-3 people in the bar / on the phone.
We had made a reservation several hours in advance, as we had been advised when we checked in at the hotel the restaurant is located in, and we still got a table indoors. It was so moist and hot and humid. No air conditioning. We were sweating and we were wet constantly from we came till we left.
There was between 18 and 20 tables outside - some of them empty.
There was no excuse for the steak or for the late pizza or the missing bread.
They did deduct the steak from the...
Read moreBorderline hostile staff who are obsessed with reservations although nobody would go here unless they are staying at the hotel as it is completely mediocre.
Had a reservation but wanted to dine earlier, they had plenty of space but insisted we come back in an hour - thankfully another member of staff gave us a card with a QR code and we sat outside and ordered takeaway pizza and ravioli.
The same waiter left a note and his WhatsApp details with my girlfriend earlier attempting to pick her up by the pool though, so he owed me one.
If you have had Italian anywhere else and expect a nice meal you will be disappointed in comparison.
Asked for water, the maître de said no, water is for dining in customers only. Then proceeded to pour herself a glass instead in spite and take a sip.
Almost comically bad service and average meal at best but it’s an airport hotel so fair enough what can you expect.
Ambience lovely it’s by the pool, the whole area is pleasant.
Come here to fill a hunger gap before you fly out of Fiumicino and laugh at the bad treatment you are likely to be on the...
