HILLARY HOUSE — Hotel in Fiumicino

I regret that I don't have photos to share. Our room was nice and spacious. ||||Our cruise trip ended however we had about 24 hours before our first flight out of Europe so we decided to find a hotel nearby. Hillary House was no more than 10 minutes away from the Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino airport. I don't think we paid more than $60 for room and shuttle service.||||Once we got to Hillary House we had to wait for the person working at the hotel to show up. Minus points for that. It was a bit confusiong. The place looks like a house and the entrance to the hotel was actually at the side of the building. The woman who lived next door noticed us standing out by the road and directed us up the unpaved driveway and to the door. After ringing the bell three times, I decided to call the number listed and got ahold of the guy working there. Turns out he is also the shuttle driver so we had to wait about 10 minutes for him to arrive. It was hot.||||We were on the second floor. Once you open the door to our room, it actually opened up into a very short and narrow hallway, had a window at the end and a small side table to the right (cute). there was a door on the right and a door on the left. The one on the left opened up into a large bathroom. There was a shower stall I guess you could squeeze 2 people into if you wanted (so you get an idea of the size), a toilet, a bidet, and a sink with plenty of counter space for makeup and hair care products. The door on the right was for the bedroom. A bit smaller than the bathroom. The bed was not great but it was comfy enough. The furniture looked old. The air conditioner chilled the room as long as you kept the bedroom door closed. I was a bit uneasy about the locks because it seemed so old. There was a terrace on the second floor but I didn't go out there. My husband said it was nice. He brought back a beer from the restaurant and sat out there a while.||||The area was quiet. There was not much around at all. There were two restaurants, one across the street that looked like a barbecue place and an Italian restaurant next door. The food at the Italian restaurant was delicious. Nothing else around though. The next morning, the guy working there was waiting for us at the time we requested.||||All in all, it was charming and way better than staying overnight at that...

Sinceramente oltre al parcheggio ,al WiFi e alla posizione in cui si trova che è sicuramente comodo per spostarsi , non trovo altri pregi , appena entrata ,la chiave non si inseriva bene nella porta d'ingresso e solo dopo ci è stato detto che c'era un problema nella "molla" ( spoiler: quando io e il mio ragazzo siamo usciti la sera ,abbiamo rischiato di rimanere fuori )all'interno della chiusura e vabbè ... , sono arrivata in stanza e ho visto al di sopra della porta un televisore completamente in bilico sostenuto solo da una base di plastica e intorno un laccio per mantenerla ferma e un'altra tv su di un comodino ,inutile dire che non funzionavano entrambe , poi i bagni purtroppo sono in comune ,infatti ,entrata in bagno ho trovato un bel regalino da parte di chissà quale maleducato ( dovrebbe essere il personale o la donna delle pulizie a fare attenzione che queste cose non accadono ,oltre ovviamente all'educazione mancata degli ospiti ),in stanza c'era carta da parati completamente rovinata che addirittura era stata utilizzata per coprire qualche crepa del muro ,direi davvero assurdo ,colazione non inclusa ma solo una macchinetta che non da resto con si e no 3/4 merendine, inoltre il proprietario non era quasi mai all'interno della struttura ,quindi se volevi chiedere informazioni o qualsiasi cosa ,dovevi indovinare se...

Pessimo in tutto. Camere sporche umide e maleodoranti. Gestione delle prenotazioni pessima: ci hanno rifilato in una mezza camera con bagno in comune nonostante avessimo prenotato e pagato la camera con bagno privato, perché la ragazza che gestisce le prenotazioni aveva fatto confusione e invertito le camere. Il signor Ivo per rimediare all errore mi ha scontato qualcosina,non facendomi pagare la navetta che avremmo preso il giorno successivo.. peccato che quella navetta non è mai passata. Servizio navetta pessimo : la posizione comoda non serve a nulla se poi non si ha un servizio navetta serio e soprattutto garantito. (Avevamo la navetta alle 10 del mattino, già pagata, ma non è mai arrivata nonostante le numerose chiamate e messaggi al signor Ivo a cui non ho ricevuto risposta) Lasciati letteralmente "a terra" e costretti a chiamare un taxi per raggiungere Fiumicino nonostante avessimo pagato la navetta. Il signor Ivo solo la sera ha risposto al messaggio dicendo che avrebbe provveduto a farmi il rimborso. Gli ho visto l Iban ma non ho ricevuto nessuna più risposta e nessun rimborso. SERIETÀ PARI A 0. PESSIMO IN TUTTO. DA EVITARE...
