This was unmistakably my comfort place during my stay in Isola Sacra (Lido di Ostia). I found this café by chance and it turned out to be just a 10-minute walk from our Airbnb. This hidden gem offers the best coffee I have tasted in Italy and have a wide range of croissants, being the perfect partner for my morning cappuccino; from crazy-red-flavoured ones to the soft butter-classics. I immediately fell in love with the pistacchio croissant, for its sweet and creamy taste. Further, the latte macchiato was good, but not as tasty as the original cappuccino; many thanks to the barista(s), you certainly know how to make the perfect coffee (and didn’t miss on the latte art too)! Also, my friend and I needed to try the famous Maritozzi from Rome. It represents a thin fine pastry dough (over)filled with panna. A delicious treat, but better split it in two, because it is indeed very sweet (and a lot in amount too haha). Moreover, the staff was super welcoming. Even though they had only two employees who spoke English, they were all very friendly and open to any questions, ensuring satisfaction. All in all, I had wonderful mornings at café Dolcemento and was more than pleased to have discovered this beautiful place. I highly recommend it to anyone close and...

Read moreThe pastry and desserts that we ordered were perfectly fine, the guy we ordered the dessert from was very friendly (the only friendly and polite staff that we met. The other staff ruined the experience completely. My husband ordered a beer as a drink, along with some chips, I wanted an americano and a water. We didn't get the chips and the water... The waiter wouldn't smile, no politeness at all, just literally couldn't wait to turn his back to us. Like I understand Italians have a way of doing things, when to drink, eat and how but at least adjust your attitude. Then when we had to pay, the bill was very wrong, one water, 2 coffees no deserts, nothing like our order...
