We were gifted the Unconventional Experience of 5 plates each and we ordered a bottle of Riesling, some water, and two coffees to complete the meal. We had so much fun guessing the flavors and ingredients of each plate, and they were all delicious! I felt satisfied at the end, although the dishes are rather small ‘tastings’, I was full, but probably mostly with dessert! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and entertaining. He really made our experience enjoyable. There’s nothing like this in Florence and I definitely recommend it as a gift, or as something to do out of the ordinary. We were there to celebrate my birthday and we were really excited but the staff was SO RUDE. I have never experienced such a rude service in my life. Not only did they ignore us, they also stopped introducing the menu to us after the second course. Our waiter didn’t know that I speak Italian and talked trash about us during the whole dinner to his colleagues and tried to bully us out. I was so traumatised that I didn’t say anything. Read moreI visited Insolita Trattoria Tre Soldi and it was a great experience. They are very experienced and skilled in "reconstructed" dishes. For example we had a reconstructed tomato which looks like an actual tomato but it is actually composed of different ingredients such as spreadable cheese, sun-dried tomatoes etc. The main course was 40-hour cooked beef cheek, which was to die for. The wines, desserts and the service were all pretty good. I think the interior design and the atmosphere could be somewhat improved though.
