Dimly lit, cosy atmosphere. As you walk in on the left you see some wine barrels with taps and later learn that for €7 you get a glass and can try as many of the wines as you like and return for refills (self-service) throughout your meal. There's something for any taste. The menu isn't particularly large but all of the dishes we tried were executed to perfection. To start I had the polenta with octopus in a moscato ragu sauce which was shared comfortably by 2. Large portion and the octopus was unbelievably tender. Then I had the seafood carbonara. Again a decent portion and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. The stuffed octopus on potato puree was also very tasty. I skipped a main course in favour of dessert and was not disappointed. The chocolate cake was decadent and fudgy. The kind of chocolate cake which makes you beg for a glass of water after because it's so rich. A bottle of still water for the table was only €3! Very reasonable in my experience. I believe the coperto was €6 if I recall correctly. The owner was kind and took time to have a chat with us and personally explain the menu in English because we don't speak Italian (there were English menus available). The rest of the staff was very attentive and friendly. Wonderful service. Do yourself a favour and try this place. An absolute gem.

The best restaurant in Florence! It’s located outside the old city – about a 40-minute walk or a short taxi ride – but worth every single step. This place is on a whole different level. If you love seafood, this is the spot for you – everything is super fresh and prepared to perfection. We ordered several dishes to share and were amazed to see that each one came as a full portion – perfect for tasting everything! On top of that, for just €7 per person, you get unlimited self-serve wine for the entire evening, straight from authentic barrels at the entrance. Such a unique experience! The staff is wonderful, and make sure to leave room for dessert – you won’t regret it.

Family run restaurant. Father and son were serving tonight. Good welcoming service all around. Fried dishes were done very well. Light, non-oily fried anchovies and fish plate were excellent. Looks like a locals spot too. Restaurant was full this night so make sure you make a reservation. 7 euro charge for all you can drink wine from taps which was cool. We'd definitely go back to try the other dishes.
