Overall, quite ok value for little money. Our private double room with ensuite bath was simple (wardrobe, bed, table, 1 chair, toilet, bidet, shower) but mostly clean. However, the bathroom is so small that you couldn't even sit properly on the toilet, and the shower was either too cold or way too hot. We didn't have breakfast there. The caffeteria looked cozy but the "kitchen" is only a microwave, kettle and some paper plates so don't expect to cook. However, if you want to warm up some soup or ready-to-eat dish it's fine. There are a few supermarkets and caffes around for snacks, coffee and pastries, however pay attention to opening times as some take a break during the afternoon. Reception is tiny and a not very pleasant in a narrow hallway, though the staff was kind. Everyday that we returned from our sightseeing trip, the key card didn't work - reception solved it quickly but it was very annoying to keep going back and forth and they didn't even check our ID to ensure the room is really ours. Location is ok, Ca. 45 min walking from old town, or reachable by bus (10,17 - buy tickets and check routes on AtBus App) or train (Campo Di Marte Station). It's a quieter area away from the tourist crowds which I appreciated but directly next to the football stadium of Fiorentina so expect noise, closed streets, police presence and altered bus routes if there's a game on. There's a little courtyard outside with some tables and plants and lights which looked quite cute, but in December was too cold to enjoy it. WiFi worked fine. Overall, if you want a budget option and are ok to make some compromises for lower costs, this is a fine enough place to sleep for a few nights.

Simple, basic and fantastic value! The best place to stay in Florence! We had a top floor double room with ensuite bathroom. Wonderfully atmospheric and friendly staff out was just what we wanted for our three day stay. Staff spoke excellent English, were happy to help and were very professional. The breakfast buffet is exceptional value. Five euros gets you unlimited pastries, coffee, cereal and some meat, cheese and ham. Again, perfect to start your day with. The evening offer of seven euros for unlimited buffet sounds good but the choice wasn't that good so we declined this deal. That said, of you're short of cash it's a good filler dinner! There is WiFi too. Free. The only downside I guess - and not really the fault of any staff - is that because of the stone corridors, sounds travel... Far!

I ended up going to this great hotel when I had an issue at A&O hotel. super friendly and I ended up staying more than what I excepted. They understood the situation and helped me and also gave me an upgrade Would recommend to go there instead and it's nearby The new renovated area is amazing, a space for women comfort and power Amazing food Great location 2 mins from bus station and 5 mins from train station Safe area to stay in and walk by night Loved everything about it and I will go back for sure

I was given my room key with 202 bed A. I slept in this bed for 4 days until I came back to the room, my stuff moved and another person in my bed. I went downstairs to reception and spoke to shama who was lovely up until now. I was spoken to as an annoyance as she blamed me for sleeping in the wrong bed as she told me I was supposed to be in E. I showed the A bed on the paper I was given and she told me to move onto E. That bed was dirty however from the previous person. I told her I can't sleep in a dirty bed with no towel even. She huffed away and moved me to a different room and told me to leave my suitcase in my first room. I didn't wait to separate my stuff so I packed eveyup and moved.

The next morning I went to reception and a different woman seemed confused, so I explained the situation and she said to wait until 2pm when shama gets in. I said that would be too late if the cleaners didn't change the bed. I wanted to make sure bed E would be cleaned as it wasn't supposed today as I should have been in it. (This whole concept of having the same sheets and towel till you leave is disgusting to me anyway as I was staying there for 8 nights. I eventually used and washed my own towel).

The hostel itself was too far from anything. 35-45 minute walk to get to central Florence, anything in-between looked like residental. Taxis were too expensive and slow so not a practical option. Buses just decide if they wanna turn up or not, very late and full. Google maps of the area will also mess you up. There was no hairdryer in my room, however there was one in the other room I temporarily stayed in so this hostel was inconsistent. The bunk bed I was on felt like it would break if I pulled to hard to get up onto the bed. The breakfast is definitely not worth paying 8 euros for. There's a shop next door which is better for what you need.

Eventually back in 202, my new bed locker didn't work so I had to have trust in hostel roomies.

I had to be at the airport for 7.30am so the night before asked if I needed to reserve a taxi. The man who looked like the manager in a black shirt said no, they will phone 10 minutes before even after I mentioned having to phone at 4am. I came to check out and the receptionist asked if I reserved as it is difficult to get taxis at this time. I told him what I was told the night before. Luckily a taxi came but if not what then. Not an organised or reliable hostel. Too far away from anything, missing amenities, I would...

If you’re reading this review, do yourself a favour and dont book this place. They put a 59 year old homeless women who was erratically talking to herself, in a room with us 2 young girls and when we said we are uncomfortable they laughed at us in our face and told us that we are ageists, classicist and racist.

To begin with the day we got there we landed late so we come to the place at 12am, checked in and ask which are our beds and they didnt tell us, they just said whichever looks free. We get to this 4 person room and only one of the beds is made, one bed that looks like its been slept in and 2 other girls sleeping in the beds. We had to go back down and they just handed us fresh sheets to make the dirty bed.

Then next day go to shower and the shower in the room had no cold water so we just had to shower with boiling water. The toilet in the room is also put there as an extension so you can hear absolutely everything when someone is in there. The room of 4 beds also only has 2 power plugs that were both dodgy and barely working as well. The lockers in the room also dont lock even if you have a tiny padlock, so good luck keeping ur stuff safe. And no privacy in the rooms either so you wake up with someone else’s face in front of you about less than half a metre away from you.

Then final straw is when a lady walks in, obviously older, no shoes on, dirty blankets in hand that has leaves and dirt all over it and a bag of coins, erratically talking to herself and not stopping, keeps going in and out the room ever 10 seconds. So obviously we are a bit uncomfortable we go to ask to just get moved to another room because we aren’t comfortable even going for dinner and leaving our stuff in lockers that dont lock yet alone sleep there, only to be laughed at in our face and insulted by 2 of the staff at reception. I never mentioned any race about this women or anything about what she was wearing or looks like in general, just the things that are uncomfortable to watch like her talking to herself and also dirty blanket that smells in the room we are all sharing, and yet they decided we are the worst type of people for asking to either be moved or get a refund so we can go sleep somewhere...

This was the worst stay we've had anywhere ever. We had a private room, and just about everything was terrible about the experience, aside from the customer service was fine and it's conveniently located right next to a bus stop. This hostel is geared towards a social hostel experience, which even that, I didn't see. First thing we noticed was how much they charged us. It was pretty expensive for a four day stay. Ended up being around $700. We then noticed the elevator was super junky. It sinks when you stand on it, and it moves extremely slowly. Didn't feel stable and I would bet that thing is expired on its routine maintenance and isn't legally certified safe. Then came the rooms. The rooms are hideous, and the bathroom smelled like there's a clear sewage issue. We were disgusting and we had to keep the bathroom door closed at all times. It is also extremely small and you have almost no room to walk past the toilets. If you're overweight or pregnant and unstable, don't even think about coming here. The walls are paper thin, and you can easily hear even quiet foot steps of people outside your room. One night we heard teenagers having a lively time in their room at 12am-2am, and other night people having se*x even though they weren't being particularly loud. So if you come here, bring earplugs. The beds were not comfortable whatsoever, and it hurt my hips to lay on it. There was also a serious bug problem here. Mosquitos were definitely the worst perpetrator, but there were other bugs too that we saw. We have multiple itchy mosquito bites all over our bodies. Not pleasant at all!! Lastly, the wifi was damn awful. I would go as far to say there is no free wifi like they claim. It constantly cuts out because the connection is so bad. So watch out if you don't have unlimited data, because you'll be watching videos and then find out you were on data for hours. We loved our time in Firenze, but this hostel was absolutely terrible and it wasn't even cheap. Don't come here unless you...
