La Bottega Bordo’ — Restaurant in Florence

Dined here for an evening - in short, a good experience.

The food was extremely good. Well known for their pizzas, their pizza did not disappoint. The Caesar salad was also very good and was happy to see that it wasn’t your typical twist to a Caesar salad - this is the original version. The octopus was also very good and fresh.

The staff were generally friendly - one lady was mostly working the outdoor seating area and she travels at a million miles an hour. Spoke English well. My one and only observation (and not a complaint) was that you felt you should be in a hurry to order just because the staff were generally in a hurry despite the place being relatively quiet with a few other tables...

We had dinner 2 times there, first time it was perfect, everything. Second time staff was terrible, we waited 20 minutes till we could order water (and by that time food also), they forgot to bring us bread (didnt really matter). My girlfriend got her food way before me so i had to wait like 10 minutes.. when we finished we wanted to order the dessert but the waitress took 25 minutes till she got our plates off the table (we had to call her and tell her to do it at the end), so we lost our appetite for the dessert. Food was good, but waitresses were terrible. Worst service i...

Food was ok. Part of a meal was really bad but when we told the waiting staff it was replaced with no quibbles.

Really enjoyed the outside eating area even though it was December. The climate was very mild, but I noticed heaters all around so it's probably really nice even when the weather is colder. The only minus was that the customers already there when we arrived were smoking (they left shortly after so we didn't complain).
