Mangia Assai — Restaurant in Florence

Surprisingly, not a bad little pizza!! I’ve lived around this place for years, and never managed to stop in. Last night we were in a rush and decided to grab a pizza on the way home. Don’t let the comprehensive menu confuse you - I thought that nothing was to my liking and ordered a plain Margherita, but it’s because their salame piccante is called my a couple of different terms that I wasn’t familiar with. That being said, I was quite happy with my Margherita in the end. The actual place is very spacious, and they sell some food items in the entryway so it gave us something to do while we waited for our takeaway. Not disappointed! I was recommended this restaurant by the owner of my guest house. It was close by and easy to find. I walked in around 7:30pm on a Wednesday and was seated right away without a reservation. The atmosphere inside was welcoming and cozy. The staff was very kind and made an effort to help me order since I don’t speak Italian well. It was a comfortable and safe place to have a meal as a solo traveler. All of the food was really good and priced well. I had a pizza, water and a glass of wine, and a dessert for 28euros. Do not recommend! We sat down, waited 15 minutes for an english menu, had to ask 3 times for a baby chair, ordered a parmegianna and 2 pizzas, only the parmigiana came. 40 minutes later they came to ask us if we need anything else, we asked for the pizza, they said they haven ordered them. They offered us bread while we wait... in the end, it turns out we had to pay for the bread they offered because they forgot our food. Plus they added a dish that we didn't order to...
