Ristorante 'Belle Ile' — Restaurant in Griante

Absolutely jaw dropping amazing. This place has been the best meal on our entire Italian vacation thus far. We didn’t have any dinner reservations and stumbled upon this gem where the amazing staff was able to accommodate us later into the evening. The ambiance feels very sophisticated while still never feeling stuffy or snotty. Although we had not ordered an appetizer, our waiter gave us each a price of bruschetta with cheese to try and it was absolutely delicious. Next, the main course: I took the filet which was so tender and flavorful, something to be repeated for sure. My party mainly took the Ravioli which was to die for, it’s something so good that you don’t come across much these days, although it is such a simple dish. After our meal, my son was given a complimentary affogato which isn’t on the menu. This was the cherry on top for such an incredible dining experience, oh and did I mention the gorgeous views of Bellagio and Varenna Right...

The service was absolutely lovely—friendly and attentive. The staff really made the effort to help us navigate the menu, which we truly appreciated.

The starters were the real highlight for us. They offered their own savoury twist on a traditional strudel—it wasn’t sweet at all, but instead filled with gorgeous flavours. The melted cheese in particular was outstanding, wonderfully creamy and satisfying.

For our main courses, we chose the fish of the day and the duck leg. The fish was excellent: a white fish cooked perfectly so it remained moist and delicate, with lovely seasoning that brought out its natural flavour. The duck leg was rich and full of taste, a real treat for anyone who enjoys robust, hearty dishes.

This restaurant was simply outstanding. Not only was the atmosphere beautifully designed with a great eye for detail, but the food itself was crafted with incredible care, precision, and a genuine passion for quality.

The menu is intentionally small — a clear sign of quality. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, perfectly balanced, and presented with elegance.

The desserts were unforgettable — both visually and in taste. Every bite was a delight and the perfect way to end an already exceptional meal.

This dinner genuinely enriched my trip to Lake Como. The staff was friendly, attentive, and truly contributed to the overall experience. I haven’t had better food anywhere in the region.
