This is the kind of place that we dared to hope we’d find on our trip to Puglia: professional and yet warm service, classic cuisine with touches of creativity, fresh and carefully chosen ingredients— just an all-around amazing place filled by local people who clearly know where to find a good meal at an eminently fair price.

An absolutely delicious culinary experience in the heart of the Old Town in Grottaglie. Anna is a true hostess and her mother cooks a delicious Italian cuisine infused with her own twist on the typical dishes. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di cenare al Macchiaviva Bistrot (con la nuova gestione dello chef Luigi) poco dopo la sua inaugurazione e devo dire che l'esperienza è stata semplicemente eccezionale. Cercavo un luogo che celebrasse la cucina mediterranea italiana, e le mie aspettative sono state ampiamente superate, in particolare per quanto riguarda il pesce. Fin dal primo impatto, l'atmosfera si è rivelata accogliente e curata, con un tocco di eleganza che preannunciava la qualità del cibo. Ma è stato il piatto principale a lasciare il segno: abbiamo scelto dei piatti a base di pesce (tempura di baccalà, pepata di cozze e polipo alla griglia ) e la freschezza degli ingredienti era inconfondibile. Ogni boccone era un trionfo di sapori autentici, esaltati da una preparazione sapiente che rispettava appieno la materia prima. Si percepisce chiaramente l'attenzione per la qualità e la passione nel proporre i veri sapori del Mediterraneo. Il servizio è stato attento e cortese, contribuendo a rendere la serata ancora più piacevole.
