Antico Girarrosto Ischitano — Restaurant in Ischia

My family and I had seen this place in passing every day on the way out of Porto when we caught the various busses to travel around the island. It fronts onto the busy road so is obviously very busy during the day. Do not, repeat NOT be put off by the location of this place, it is a fantastic little grill and the food is amazing and easy on the wallet. We had kebabs, chicken, fish, pizza, good God, so much really, really tasty food.

Good service and friendly staff, what looks like a busy road side venue during the day turns into a great place to sit, relax and watch as people turn up to collect take away food. We didn't actually think we'd ordered that much, but had to take some home with us as we couldn't bear to leave it!!!

To sum up, we spent a week on Ischia and dined all over the island, I can honestly say Antico Girarrosto Ischitano was by far the best place we had the pleasure to visit.

Just another of Ischia Ports, great restaurants. It is easy to order too much like I did on my first night there, it was a feast indeed. Lovely mixed grilled vegetable platter, roast chicken, pasta, fried potatoes. Even their bread is special, just like the old days. We returned to have another go but resisted ordering too much. They do lovely house wines served up in a ceramic rooster jug. The staff are super and the atmosphere is wonderful. I highly recommend this place, super food, value and genuine...

Lovely little place, we had the half roast chicken and potatoes each - absolutely delicious. Best chicken skin we've ever had, and the potatoes were cooked in the chicken juices and were so good. They also brought out a basket of bread which was freshly baked, and we had white wine, which was also good. Really reasonable pricing as well, with good service.
