I had a very disappointing experience at Ristorante Pizzeria Fratelli La Bufala by Giardini di Enzo.
When we arrived, an older waiter (around 50 years old) refused to give us a table on the terrace, even though there were several empty tables clearly available. He didn’t give any reason, and his attitude felt unnecessarily cold and unwelcoming.
Thankfully, the person at the cashier — a lovely woman with curly hair — kindly offered us a terrace table with a smile, and I really appreciated her professionalism and kindness.
However, the waiter clearly wasn’t pleased. He came to take our order with a visibly rude and dismissive attitude. No greeting, no politeness — just a cold, unpleasant tone. When he brought the drinks, he didn’t even bother placing them in front of us, he just dropped them at the corner of the table, like we didn’t deserve proper service.
Later, he only brought one dish — my friend’s. Mine was simply forgotten. When I asked for it, he eventually brought my pizza cold, without saying a word. I had no desire to eat it and left it untouched. I paid and left as soon as possible.
I travel to two or three countries every year, and I’ve never felt such humiliation in a restaurant before. It’s hard not to see this behavior as discriminatory. I do not recommend this place, and I sincerely hope they reflect on how they treat all of their customers in the future — with respect and basic...
Read moreUPDATE After writing the review, I, female, got physically ambushed by the waiter on the street and threatened to take off my review! Absolutely disgusted how they are trying to wash themselves clear in the reply making 25 mins of waiting being 5 minutes. What normal male stops a woman in the street after a bad review and follows her, insulting and gesticulating in her face just because she called out bad waitering? By the way, I have lived for 2 years in Italy and travelled around the country and never ever have I been threatened like this. If you can't take the critiqe, do your job in a way that people don't have to write bad reviews. Noone wants to be waiting 25 minutes in a half-empty restaurant to get their order taken.*
Atrocious service! First, they immediately presume I can't speak Italian, although I greeted them so and asked for a table, then they take 10 min to even bring me the menu, the waiter happily talking to regulars with no care in the world, and then after 15 min of bringing the menu I still haven't ordered although the restaurant was half-empty - not leaving 3/4 euros for such a service as cover charge! Left...
Read moreI have to say, I had one of the best pasta dishes of my life here. It was a simple pasta with tomato and vegetables, but I can’t remember the name. How can something so amazing be made with just a few ingredients? It was an absolute delight.
I discovered this gem thanks to a recommendation from one of the bus drivers. From the moment I walked in, they were absolutely wonderful. I was greeted by what seemed like the owner and his son. They were unbelievably kind and welcoming, making me feel right at home.
I hadn't slept well and was having a really rough day, but their kindness and that incredible pasta turned my day around completely. It felt like a warm hug in the form of a meal.
I had to rush back to my hotel, which was quite far, and they even gave me water for the journey and a shot in an impressively long bottle. Such thoughtful gestures!
I recommend this place 100%. I wish I were in Ischia right now so I...
