Ristorante Tortuga — Restaurant in Jesolo

We were 2 and went for dinner there. 1st of all, non the waiters speak any other language but Italian. The menu came and wow, they are so extremely overpriced. I ordered alcohol free beer and I got a bottle without a glass, they removed my partners water glas and our wine glasses without even asking if we want to order wine. Then we did order wine and said only 1 glass is needed, they brought us 2, we ordered a bottle of water, it was brought to the table without glasses and we had to ask twice until we got them. As a starter we had a tomato bowl with basilicum, they serve it with a basket of crackers and bread, and it was really delicious. They removed the basket without asking if you want to have some more. We ordered a mixed grilled fish for 2, there were 5 small different pieces of fish and seafood but definitely not enough for the price and not to make you full, there aren't even any side dishes, no potatoes, nothing. I have been to this place over 10 times over several years and it always has been great. Tortuga is one of the best or even the best pick for seafood and fish dishes in Jesolo. The seafood is fresh and high quality.

Today i had mixed raw fish Antipasti without raw scampi or shellfish. The raw fish tartare and carpaccio consists of tuna, salmon and sea bass and fermented anchovies. It‘s served with fine small dots of different dips, wasabi and horseradish. The fish itself is only seasoned with some oil and maybe some lemon. I think the fish carpaccio might be smoked, because it tastes different than sashimi. The main dish was lobster. The lobster is topped with spaghetti to keep it warm. The lobster itself was tasty and had no chlorine taste. The sauce is very plain, which is good so it doesn‘t disguise the taste of the lobster. It consisted of tomato sugo, clams, crawfish, white octopus meat, oil and was deglazed with white wine. Definitely a highlight.

The service is always polite and attentive, the time you wait between the dishes is never too long or short.

The food was great I definitely recommend trying the baked seabass for 2 people which they cut just in front of you. And also the crab dumplings which turned out being gnocchis. The service was pretty nice and friendly although some of the staff didn't understand English but it was ok. The location is great there are a lot of free parking spaces in front of the restaurant. The atmosphere was good the tables weren't too close and the restaurant wasn't too noisy. I really recommend coming here cause as they say this is most probably the best fish restaurant in Jesolo, also always reserve a table ahead of the time cause they are...
