Ive come to this place with certain expectations, given by the prices, menu and behaviour of the staff at the restaurant, but unfortunately such expectations haven't been met. Every year I decide to give this place a go because it's supposedly the best restaurant in la maddalena. Every year something just doesn't work out and I'm tired of trying. We ordered a fritto misto as starter, which was good. Then I had fregola with squid ink, stracciatella and raw prawn. The idea is sublime, the execution unfortunately wasn't. The dish turned out too salty and I could only eat 5 bites (with stracciatella and prawns) because the fregola on its own was way too salty. My partner ordered the paccheri amatriciana with mussels, according to the owner a strong dish that edges on being salty (be ause of the mussels and guanciala) but which turned out to be quite flat in terms of flavour. Moreover the pasta was al dente but broken (which usually means the quality of the pasta isn't great) and the guanciale boiled and not crispy.

The owner was very nice and didn't make us pay for the fregola that we left, and I do appreciate the honesty, but I'd rather go to a restaurant where I have no expectations and the food is ok rather than going to a restaurant that claims to be one of the best on the island (and makes you pay for it) and not be able to finish my dish (even if I'm refunded at the end).

I don't think I'll be giving them another chance next year, although the owner is honest and the staff professional and attentive, I'd rather be able to...

It was not an excellent experience as we have expected. 4 dishes out of 7 were disappointing: fish soup with 4 spoons of a liquid and the spectacular see-food garni, bitter pasta with pesto and red shrimps, tasteles ravioli without seasoning and on the top of it, a hair in the spaghetti vongole.Tiramisu tasted nice, light and proper, but no fireworks appeared. The grilled calamaries, oysters and grouper were outstanding and keeped the high level of an italian cuisine together with the perfect service. Unfortunately they forgot to apologize for the staf's hair in the food, but remembered about charging for this meal of shame. What I am suggesting is to find an alternative place for dinner, where the taste of food goes before the show and...

Overall, pretty good food for the small island with a focus on fresh seafood and a few dishes done well. The service on the other hand was lacking, especially given the restaurant is slightly on the higher end. We asked the waiter for help deciding what to order, what the specialties were. His response was least engaging, literally saying ‘I don’t know, everything’s nice’ and then proceeded to leave to give us time to decide what to eat, even thought we had asked for help and recommendations. The waitress rolled her eyes when serving us. The food is good, especially the lobster linguine. The vegetables with the branzino were bitter and cold but the fish itself was great. The service really needs to...
