Trattoria Il Centro Cadimare — Restaurant in La Spezia

Incredible local experience with kind hospitality and delicious food. We happened across this restaurant by luck, and what a wonderful surprise! The place is regularly packed with locals and you immediately feel at ease and at right home amid the happy chatter and twinkling lights. They do one seating per table per night, so make a reservation during the busy summer months. Ask for Filippo who speaks excellent English and is a wonderful host. The team treated us as though we had been regulars for years, despite having just met us. Their warm-hearted welcome and kindness made the difference between a delicious meal and a truly memorable experience.

We highly suggest the mixed appetizers (first on the menu), crudo platter (raw seafood), spaghetti allo scoglio, and the Orata Al Forno Con Patate (baked sea bream in a a salt crust with potatoes). Frankly everything is delicious and the wine is super reasonably priced.

Food is very local and simply fantastic. Prices very reasonable for American traveler. Got lucky to seat without previously booking. We saw numerous ppl being turned away because the place was booked. Everyone around seemed local and just spending casual evening. Looked like they have one seating per evening. You order your wine, your first course, second and desert. Nobody is rushing the experience. Scrivere una recensione degna di nota mi riesce molto difficile. Difficile, perché la trattoria "Il Centro Cadimare" è andata talmente oltre le mie aspettative, che ogni parola mi risulta banale. Tutto è curato nei minimi dettagli, dal locale, piacevolmente accogliente, al servizio, preciso ed efficiente. Dalle posate, sistemate in ordine geometrico, (il coltello posizionato in piedi è una chicca per gli occhi) alla musica pertinente per l'ambiente, fino ad arrivare alle luci soffuse, fanno intendere che non si ha a che fare con un ristorante come gli altri. Il maitre di sala è professionalmente molto preparato, simpatico senza mai scadere di classe, squisitamente gentile ed educato. Accoglie e coccola i clienti con premura, sempre presente, mai invadente. Le pietanze poi, rispecchiano l'ambiente. Vengono servite, ponendo attenzione alla composizione, dando appagamento anche alla vista e rendendo la consumazione, un piacevole momento di raccoglimento sensoriale. Per fare un piccolo esempio, una pulizia delle cozze così curata, non l'ho trovata nemmeno nei ristoranti più blasonati d'Italia.
