However, this is a restaurant in Puglia, so you would expect to eat fresh and perfectly prepared fish. If you come here with this expectation you'll find yourself very disappointed. Why would you serve smoked salmon as part of the fish carpaccio in Puglia???? The peppered mussels were good. The grilled fish plate had one thin slice of swordfish filet grilled to its dry death, two just OK big gamberi and a piece of sepia that I wish I had a steak knife to cut... Read moreThis restaurant is the best restaurant I have eaten in since starting my tour of southern Italy. The building and garden was beautiful and creates a serene atmosphere. The food and service was superb. The whole tour group that ate here, all had a positive experience tonight. The staff also supplied an amazing torte birthday cake as a surprise for my partner Steve. The antipasti was absolutely delicious and we were full up before the main course. Particularly deliscious were the cozze racanate (oven baked mussels in breadcrumbs - if you haven't tried this you must!) the carpaccio of swordfish and Ricci (sea urchins, a local delicacy).
Service was great,the waiter really looked after us and the ambience is amazing. Restaurant is located in an old monastery with fountains and statues.
