Al Pescatore — Restaurant in Lipari

Great location overlooking the harbour and piazza. Ordered three of the starters and was very disappointed. The fried food was flavorless, tasted of the same old oil and was presented with no imagination. I think for the price they charge they can afford to use fresh oil. Service was attentive and friendly. Our experience of Italy after eating in about 30 different restaurants from north to south in the past month is that if a restaurant has a nice view in a popular place the food is below average. My advice, have a drink where there’s a nice view then go to the back streets...

Had a family dinner at the restaurant. All went well until they started bringing the food out. Food was of good quality but was over priced for the quantity provided. There was a mix up with one of the meals, when it was brought to the staffs attention there was protest in replacing the meal and attitude from some of the staff members. Eventually they replaced the meal and tried to double charge it on our bill.

Nice location at the port but I would say the food is a little generic. Also VERY disappointed that as a guest of the hotel Bougainville that we were entitled to a 10% discount off the bill But this restaurant charges a compulsory 10% service fee (that is not common at all in lipari restaurants) and defeats the purpose of a discount. Go elsewhere...
