Geco Bar — Restaurant in Lipari

I had 6 different gelatos in the space of 1 hour. It was amazing. I loved it. The service was amazing. They helped me with my Italian when I was struggling and were very friendly. The food is extraordinary, and the atmosphere is wonderful. The soft music in the background really helps with keeping up the spirits. Me and friend had 10 gelatos together, and we don't regret a thing. The food is really good quality for the price as well. The gelatos just melt in your mouth, and it is amazing. I highly recommend the lemon as it's zingy and refreshing and brightens my day. I highly recommend everything about this place. Don't understand the negative comments here. We actually visited twice in one day, the first time for an early lunch and the waitress was super nice. She even advised us on what to visit on the island. The food was delicious and the prices definitly reasonable considering its a tourist hot spot. Later on we just went for a little drink.before the ferry. Siamo stati a pranzo in questo locale, molto affollato, ma purtroppo l’esperienza non è stata all’altezza. Dopo esserci seduti abbiamo atteso oltre 10 minuti solo per ordinare, mentre il tavolo accanto, arrivato dopo di noi, era già stato servito con acqua, pane e condimenti. Arrivati i cocktails, direi tutto OK buoni, anche se vorrei suggerire di non utilizzare menta lasciata lì da tempo.

Successivamente è arrivato il pane cunzato, buono e gustoso, anche se il pane forse meritava di restare più a bagno nel pomodoro.

Ben diverso invece il piatto di spaghetti con le vongole: dall’aspetto invitante ma con un odore insopportabile di marcio, dovuto probabilmente a vongole non fresche o mal conservate. Molte erano chiuse, altre emanavano un tanfo davvero improponibile. Il cameriere stesso, incredulo, ha ammesso di non capirne molto di pesce, ma si vedeva chiaramente che non avrebbe mai toccato quel piatto.

Alla segnalazione è intervenuto un signore della cassa, probabilmente il proprietario, che con tono arrogante ha liquidato la questione dicendo che “il pesce era fresco di mattina e i gusti sono gusti, non a tutti piace il pesce”. Una risposta del tutto fuori luogo.

L’unica nota positiva è che il piatto non è stato inserito nel conto. Ma resta la delusione: per prezzi così alti ci si aspetta pesce fresco e un minimo di rispetto verso il cliente. Tra i tanti primi a base di pesce provati sull’isola, non mi era mai capitata un’esperienza così negativa.
