La Bottega — Restaurant in Lipari

Amazing. That’s all i can say about this restaurant, a hidden gem on the island of Vulcano.

Food: I tasted almost all their dishes now and i think my favourite ones are the Gamberetti and the seafood salad. The size of the meals is neither to small nor too big (exept for the Fiorentina Steak, this one is huge!). Everything is fresh, the spices are fitting and do enhance the flavour of the food instead of covering it up.

Staff: The staff is friendly and helpful, they speak english. They are at hand if you need something.

Location: Its located in the center of the town, easily reachable by foot if you come from the port. The interior is traditional sicilian and timeless. Everything is clean, even the restroom (which is not a common thing in sicily).

Overall a good experience, i recommend you going there and trying their Gamberetti, if you are into...

Didn't get the same food or service as the Italians sat next to us even though we ordered the same food.

I ordered grilled squid which was tough and overcooked and half the size of the same dish ordered by the Italians sitting at the table next to us.

My wife's food was also disappointing considering the previous reviews.

Aufgrund der positiven Rezensionen entschieden wir uns für La Bottega. Die gemischten Vorspeisen mit Fisch und Gemüse sind unterdurchschnittlich - lieblos zusammengestellt, mäßige Qualität - man schmeckt vor allem Zitrone. Die Parmigiana war passabel. Das Risotto mit Meeresfrüchten verdient den Namen nicht - die Konsistenz entspricht in keiner Weise einem Risotto. Es handelt sich um lockere Reiskörner mit Muscheln, winzigen, ungeschälten Garnelen (so klein, dass das Schälen Mühe bereitet) und winzigen Tintenfischstückchen. Die gemischte Platte mit gegrilltem Fisch ist völlig indiskutabel. Schwertfisch (einmal paniert, einmal unpaniert) jeweils völlig trocken, Garnele in Ordnung, Tintenfisch gummiartig.
