Osteria Romana Celsus — Restaurant in Lissone

What an unexpected find! It was late in the evening and we needed a bite. We happened upon this place in what seemed like a very quiet part of town where nothing was happening. But as soon as we got inside the place was buzzing and we were lucky to get one of the last tables.

I can see why - the food was fantastic and well-priced but most of all the staff were so warm and welcoming taking the time to translate everything (especially our Venetian host who was amazing!) and describe in intricate detail all the different kinds of pastas etc. It felt like being invited to someone's home!

As we had been traveling mostly in northern Italy and the food here is Roman, there was a huge choice of options we'd never come across before. A very special travel moment where you get away from the tourist masses and connect...

This was a great restaurant on a side street in Lissone. Our hotel recommended it and we were happy we tried it. While we didn’t realize we needed a reservation on Saturday night, the manager somewhat reluctantly gave us a table for two with a limited time window. We ended up enjoying the food and especially our waiter Marco so much that we made a special effort to make our way back for a second visit! The food was great. My wife tried the oxtail and loved it. Ero in una di quelle serate in cui desideravo davvero gustare un piatto tipico romano, stanco delle solite imitazioni che non rendono giustizia ai sapori autentici. Finalmente, qui, ho trovato quello che cercavo.

Ho iniziato con un tris di antipasti che comprendeva polpette di carne, carciofi tipici e un assortimento di bruschette, ognuna con un gusto diverso. Il carciofo era davvero fresco e ben preparato, mentre le polpette avevano un sapore pieno e avvolgente, accompagnato dal giusto contorno.

Come primo piatto, ho scelto il Primo di Trastevere, un vero spettacolo sia per gli occhi che per il palato. La combinazione di ricotta romana, pecorino, guanciale e zucca era perfetta, sia nelle quantità che nell’equilibrio dei sapori. Esattamente il tipo di piatto che volevo vedere: ricco, colorato e ben presentato. In altre circostanze avrei provato subito dopo anche un’amatriciana, ma questa volta ho voluto concentrarmi su questa scelta, senza rimpianti.

La mia compagna ha ordinato una cacio e pepe e ne è rimasta estremamente soddisfatta. Per concludere, non poteva mancare il dolce: una cheesecake decorata, accompagnata da un buon caffè e un amaro offerto dalla casa.

L’ambiente interno è davvero suggestivo: ti dà l’impressione di essere in un angolo nascosto delle vie attorno al Colosseo, romantico e perfetto sia per una cena intima che per un’occasione speciale. Un aspetto da non sottovalutare è il personale, gentile e attento, che rende l’esperienza ancora più piacevole accompagnando la serata con canzoni romane di sottofondo.

Il parcheggio è disponibile a circa 80 metri dal locale, un grande vantaggio per la zona.

Per quanto riguarda i prezzi, li ho trovati più che onesti, soprattutto considerando la qualità del cibo e l’atmosfera del locale. Consigliato...
