While visiting Lovere, we stopped by Bar Centrale for breakfast—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Ideally located in the town’s main square, the bar offers a mix of cozy charm and vibrant atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating that makes it a perfect spot to relax and take in the local scene.

From the very beginning, the staff impressed us with their friendliness and professionalism. The team was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel right at home.

Alongside that, we tried a variety of pancakes: one with pistachio cream, another with banana, and a deliciously crispy pancake croccante. Each one was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. The combination of textures and flavors made the meal feel indulgent without being heavy.

Of course, the coffee was spot on—rich, aromatic, and the ideal companion to a leisurely breakfast. Sitting outdoors in the morning sun, surrounded by the charm of Lovere’s historic center, created an unforgettable experience.

Qualche sabato fa io e mio marito siamo arrivati qui per un brunch. Premessa: mio marito è stato proprietario di un hotel- ristorante- bar ereditato dal nonno e dal padre. Questi gli hanno insegnato che il cliente ha sempre ragione: ma non era assolutamente questa la nostra pretesa quel sabato! Siamo clienti da moltissimo tempo di questo bar e sappiamo che l’attesa , nei momenti di pieno, è lunga : ma non è nemmeno questo il punto! Il locale quel sabato comunque non era nemmeno pieno, ci sono volte in cui si fa la coda fuori per entrare ma non certo quel giorno, c’erano tavoli vuoti. Alle ore 11 ordiniamo: latte caldo, caffè, pancakes e gelato. Alle ore 11.10 arriva il latte caldo. Alle ore 11.20 chiedo notizie alla cameriera dei pancakes e lei, sgarbatamente, risponde che c’è coda… Alle ore 11.30 mio marito va al banco per far presente che il latte caldo ormai non è più caldo e gli ribadiscono che deve aspettare… Finalmente dopo altri 10 minuti arrivano i pancakes ma non il caffè e devo riordinarlo. Mi rassegno a bere il latte freddo scaldandolo un po’ col caffè per evitare problemi. Non ci lamentiamo nemmeno che uno dei due bicchieri portati con l’acqua sia sporco, tanto sono due, possiamo usare l’altro! Ci tengo a sottolineare queste due ultime note perché il proprietario mi ha poi “urlato addosso “ che loro sono un bar di provincia, non all’altezza delle nostre aspettative (?!?!) Ha aggiunto che noi non dovremo mai più entrare nel suo locale! Tutto questo è partito quando alla cassa ho detto, garbatamente e con un sorriso, senza recriminazioni, che la mia colazione era stata un po’ sofferta… Lì sono partite le invettive del proprietario che ci ha accusato di aver urlato per un’ora!! Cosa totalmente falsa, qualche commento fra noi sul disservizio sicuramente, ma era il minimo! A questo punto, siccome davvero ci tenevo a sistemare questo malinteso, ho provato a dialogare col proprietario ma non c’è stata possibilità! Dal “Non venite più, mi fate un favore “ al “C’è coda bisogna aspettare “ al “ vede qualcuno che sta facendo niente ( lo ritengo un commento assolutamente non da esercizio privato!) e ancora “ non la ascolto, parlo solo con chi voglio io” e ancora ai commenti verso la sorella che annuiva guardandomi con compatimento… Un vero peccato perché ci piaceva davvero questo posto!

Un’ultima considerazione: ci sono capitati locali molto affollati e il servizio è sempre stato eccellente quindi se qui le attese sono così lunghe forse questo signore non ha ancora trovato il modo di far funzionare l’ingranaggio… Chissà se persisterà nel suo atteggiamento “ Ho ragione io” o magari, con un po’ meno di arroganza, rivedrà le...
