Osteria La Torre — Restaurant in Lovere

We had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon with four people, and overall it was a lovely experience. The osteria is beautifully located on a charming little square in the center of Lovere. The ambiance inside is also very pleasant, warm, well-decorated, and inviting without being overly fancy.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had a nice little chat with one of them, which added a personal touch to the meal. The waiting time for the food was reasonable, not too long.

We tried a few different first courses: – The pasta with trout was a bit disappointing. Nicely plated but rather bland in flavor. – Gli spaghetti al pomodoro was a classic, simple but tasty. – La pasta con burro, salvia e speck, was probably the best. Full of flavor, rich but not too heavy.

For the main course, we had the pork braised in wine, which was absolutely delicious, tender and full of flavor.

There’s also a great wine selection, so if you’re a wine lover, this place is definitely worth a visit.

We were asked to wait 15min for a table. This was no issue for us. However after 45min there was a free table. Still no issue for us. When seated at the table we got fully ignored by the staff for 20min whilst there were only empty plates on the surrounding tables.

Just a “I will be with you soon or a menu would have been sufficient”

Mediocre food, but that’s not important. Our server tried to scam us by charging 70 euro for house wine, and our plate of meat that was supposed be to 35 euro was 70 euro.

After us asking about the weird prices the total bill went down from about 120 to 80 euro, but still a scam. Similar restaurants in the area with better food charges 40 euro for the same...
