Rupi's beach Bar — Restaurant in Lu Palau/Palau

Such a shame, they've turned a cool surf spot into a Disneyland for tourists. Instead of surfing, there are now huge fenced-in swimming areas, and you can't leave your own equipment anywhere on the beach anymore because there are too many families with umbrellas and sun loungers blocking access to the water. And unfortunately, since this year, the surf instructors have been blocking the entire permitted corridor for entering the sea to surf. When we asked, we were told that since this year, it's no longer permitted to leave private surf equipment in the huge zone in front of the permitted access to the sea. It's only permitted to leave private surf equipment in the beach areas where the swimming zones are, and these are completely overcrowded, so there's no room. So there's no safe area left for your own private surf equipment, not even for customers! A real shame about what was once Italy's coolest surf spot. Visiting Rupis in PortoPollo for years…

Over the years the chilled vibe left and the interests changed. Now money is the main focus. Todays experience totally nailed it: The main waiter (older guy, only one who speaks English there) told us that we have to order more „if we would like to sit on a table“. Later on I noticed that he also told same to other people that were spending a coffee break at the beachbar.

All in all: no chilling out if you are searching for a chilled cappuccino.

A great beach bar and restaurant where to find an awesome selection of fresh foods and healthy meals for lunch and cool atmosphere for aperture and dinners when the place turns into a jamming spot with the best DJ as well as terrific live music.
