Panificio Chifenti — Restaurant in Lucca

Delicious bread and pastries but not worth the sub-standard hygiene and customer service. One of the shop assistants didn’t use gloves nor utensil when handling my purchase. Before paying in cash, I asked her if she intended to wear gloves to take cash. She replied impertinently, “Lei deve stare zitta e guada cosa faccio fino alla fine / You should shut up - keep quiet and watch what I do until the end.”Then she explained to me that, unlike her colleague, she puts her gloves on when handling cash, instead of food. I have no issue whether one uses gloves to handle cash or food so as long as there is no contamination. What disappoints me is the shop assistant’s rude tone and choice of words. As the saying goes, Vo’ a Lucca per prendere il garbo/ I go to Lucca for its good manners. Clearly this is not the case at Pasticceria...

Per anni ci siamo serviti in questo panificio, i prodotti sono indubbiamente buoni ma in quanto a cortesia...lasciamo perdere. Oggi mia mamma, come di consueto, è andata a prendere il pane in questo locale. La spesa era di circa 6€, ha pagato con una banconota da 20€ e le sono stati dati circa 4€ di resto, poi la commessa si è recata velocemente sul retro. Chiunque può ben capire che il resto era completamente sbagliato...mancavano 10€! Tornata la commessa mia madre fa presente la questione e la signorina, anche in modo abbastanza scortese, ha risposto "Ah, a me non torna quello che mi sta dicendo!". Mia madre, mantenendo la calma e sempre in modo cortese, le spiega l'accaduto e insiste per avere il resto che le spettava, al che la commessa risponde "Tanto stasera quando chiudo la cassa e faccio il conto me ne accorgo se quello che mi dici non è vero!". Nessuno fa una colpa alla commessa per aver sbagliato il resto ma indubbiamente ci sono modi diversi per affrontare la cosa, senza considerare il fatto più grave: ha praticamente fatto passare mia mamma da ladra davanti ad altri clienti, si è sentita veramente mortificata. Sicuramente avete perso dei clienti, e non saremo nemmeno le uniche se vi comportate così con tutti. Assolutamente...
