Braceria Tiffany is in an unprepossessing part of Macerata and the building is extremely utilitarian. However, once inside, that is quickly forgotten. The decor is quirky and charming with a low tech, shabby chic look. It was warmed by a real flame burner in one corner and richly decorated for the Valentine's romantic season. The service was quick and we were brought a platter of bruschetta while deciding what to order. Our choice of appetiser was excellent - polenta with sausage and porcini mushrooms. I went on to the grilled lamb, which literally melted in the mouth. Unbeatable! Unfortunately, this arrived while I was finishing my polenta and the waitress snatched my plate away as I lifted my fork to my mouth - not correct service at all. My husband's mixed grill was not ready for some time after I'd been served, so I was forced to eat alone to avoid its chilling. He enjoyed his grill, and wasn't bothered that the pork rib arrived on a separate plate when he'd nearly finished. This service certainly needs sorting out! We asked for a large buffet of vegetables and were told that we could self serve from the selection in order to match our personal tastes, but in the event we were given a small plated selection without any consultation or explanation. The non-Italian waitresses undoubtedly tried to please and were very polite, but their lack of experience was a blight on the meal. Prezzo giusto. Voto...
