Attracted by the view of fresh local produce on display such as mushrooms and other vegetables and the excellent presentation with the vines, the careful table settings and the romantic atmosphere, I decided with my partner to linger for dinner. Having grown up not far from Martina Franca, I initially thought it would be a tourist-quality local restaurant but instead, I was proved wrong, the food ordered was of extraordinary quality. We ordered mushroom risotto, orecchiette with turnip greens and fresh agnolotti with mushroom cream. I have personally complimented the owner (Sig. Ernesto) and the staff for the high quality and atmosphere of his restaurant, which also has Martina Franca's cathedral in plain sight. Without any doubt, I recommend it not only to tourists but also to locals. My compliments for an excellent evening in an extraordinary setting. Thanks a lot guys and I hope to see you again on my next holiday in our...
Read moreWe chose this place mainly because of the fantastic location, overlooking the amazing Basilica. It was a bit after lunchtime, but we were still able to order some lunch (we asked before sitting down). Setting is great, a bit windy on that day. Staff was ok, no more, no less. We ordered a Meat (Salami/Ham)'n'Cheese platter, some veggie antipasti and Salsicca. Two glasses of white wine. The wine was very nice, a good pour as well. The antipasti veggies were fine. The salami and ham cuts were really average....tops. Italy has mouth-watering salami, ham and other meat cuts. These cuts here surely weren't top quality. Average grocery-store quality. The Salsicca (sausages) were really bland. No flavours. Disappointing. Soon after we got served everybody started to pack up and cleaning up the place. Staff started to have their own lunch. Well...
This place would get two stars if not for the great views. Wouldn't come back...
Read moreWe’ve went last night for a dinner as a family. As a foodie, hobby cook and well traveled high class restaurant aficionado, I can only say that this restaurant and his staff surprised me way beyond as I was expecting while going out for dinner in Martina Franca. The fresh fish tartars as appetizers were one of the bests I’ve ever eaten and I can say for sure you should try them all. The kids had great pasta al forno, the salads were super fresh and the lobster was even better then what you can eat at Pierluigi in Rome. On top of everything they had the wine of one of the best vineyards of Apulia: Albea. Other places might get better ratings, no idea why, but this place deserves it the most. The staff was more than super friendly and helpful and kept an eye on all their customers promptly. You can say this restaurant, its owner, its chef and its staff is a...
