One of the best places to try typical Martinese meat dishes. I know local Italians who rave about this place. Set in the beautiful historic center, this restaurant doesn’t charge inflated prices like its neighbors. Also, the wait staff speaks very good English. Recommend starting with the antipasta della casa that includes capicola typical to Martina Franca. For a main dish, the “arosto misto” or mixed grill is my favorite. The beginning was a bit slow, as we had to wait 20 minutes to get the menus. Maybe it was because we were early (19 hour). So, as often with Italian restaurants, you should brace yourself to take your time.

The menu was on smartphones through QR code, which seems to be trending in Italy but that is really not convenient for customers.

The pizzas were very good and not expensive. There was a lot of choices including some local specialties. The white wine was also fine, and the waiter proposed to keep it in the fridge for later.

Abbiamo cenato di domenica ai tavolini all’aperto.. Siamo rimasti molto delusi dal servizio, dai prodotti e dal conto. Abbiamo ordinato, oltre ad altri tipi di carne e ai contorni, una tagliata CON CONDIMENTO A PARTE (rucola, grana e pomodorini ), specificando il tutto alla cameriere, data la presenza di un commensale allergico al formaggio. Ci è stata portata una tagliata con il Condimento sopra (solo rucola e grana) . Al che Abbiamo fatto notare la cosa al cameriere, il quale ci ha detto che ce l’avrebbero ripreparata. Abbiamo dato per scontato che Ne avrebbero preparata una nuova, dato che l’errore Era il loro e data l’importanza della questione sotto il profilo salutare. In realtà, ci hanno portato la vecchia tagliata semplicemente “pulita” del condimento… Hanno però dimenticato di togliere qualche pezzettino di grana. Allarmati lo abbiamo fatto notare nuovamente al cameriere, il quale dopo pochissimo ci ha portato una tagliata apparentemente diversa ma in realtà, A nostro parere, composta semplicemente pezzi di carne presi da altre tagliate servite forse ad altri tavoli, in quanto i vari pezzi avevano tutti cotture differenti oltre al fatto che nel complesso era tutto freddo. Al conto inoltre, è stata aggiunta una bevanda in più e il prezzo della carne era notevolmente lievitato, forse a causa del fatto che avevamo mandato indietro la carne che non rispettava i canoni da noi richiesti.
