We went to this restaurant last night. Other than the nice location, my meal was awful. After being served my meat dish about a half hour after my friends finished their dinner, I was disappointed with what they plated. I requested a medium cooked steak with mushrooms and fries. My fries came promptly and wondered when will my main appear. When it finally arrived, it was medium rare and still tough to chew. It was returned to be recooked and came back still not eatable.
My wife attempted to take a picture of the restaurant so that we could remember the name of the eatery. The owner took her phone out of her hands and started to berate her with whatever Italian he was saying.
Instead of offering a solution he was defending his steak as being good.
Not to make a situation become worse than it was, we left our dinner guests to speak with the owner.
Bottom line...don't bother with this place. The rudeness of the owner was ruined what was a great day. I'll be using TripAdvisor more again to make sure we find a good...
Read moreOne of our worst restaurant experiences ever. We went there for a little break around noontime. It already started bad with dirty dishes. We had to get it exchanged by the waitress. They obviously had been used already. For food, we just ordered a plate with cheese and salami + some grilled vegetables. When bringing the plate, the mozzarella dropped on the table. The waitress just looked at it, put the plate on the table and left. She did not even ask if we want a new / fresh one!! The plate came without any bread. We had to ask for it to then receive some old, dry bread. The vegetables and the cheese tasted like nothing, the salami also wasn‘t our favorite. Overall - a very bad experience with bad / plain food, dirty dishes and very unfriendly (or maybe unmotivated) staff. On top it’s overpriced for what you get. Don’t be fooled by the central location or the crowded restaurant. It’s...
Read moreStrolled through town and decided to stop in here for dinner, let me save you the hassle, don’t bother… Service was more interested in trying to get people through the door than serve the table, we had the Capocollo with burrata was nice but then the mains came, the Tartufo special pasta was packet dried Tagliatelle pasta with truffle oil, nothing else and was the most expensive item on the bill coming in at a graceful 22 euros (you are kidding right?), the pizza the seemed like it was cooked on one of those trays in a conveyor belt oven was underwhelming to say the least but at least this was only 9 euros. There are some incredible places to dine in Martina Franca, this is not one of them, make sure you read reviews before hand (our mistake here) because it’s not worth wasting a night on...
