A Quintessential Seafood Haven - Il Cantuccio a Nerano
There are dining experiences that create memories that stay with you long after the last course is served, and our visit to Il Cantuccio a Nerano was exactly that. Set in the idyllic coastal town of Nerano, it offers an authentic taste of Italy that is simply unparalleled.
Nestled right at the water's edge, Il Cantuccio gifts its diners with the serene ambiance of the sea. With each lapping wave, one can't help but feel completely immersed in the experience, allowing the splendid setting to heighten the culinary journey that follows.
As for the food, Il Cantuccio a Nerano outdoes itself with its extraordinary seafood offerings. Each fish dish is a testament to the kitchen's understanding of and respect for the fruits of the sea. We were utterly delighted by the freshness of the ingredients, which was undeniable in every mouthful, transporting us to the very heart of the Mediterranean Sea. The creative twists on the classic dishes pay homage to tradition while excitingly exploring the modern palate.
Specifically, their Fish Carpaccio is something that will have you raving to your friends back home - it was an absolute triumph. Thinly sliced, fresh, and delicately seasoned, it was an ode to the sea and Italian culinary craftsmanship. Each dish is a true celebration of seafood, masterfully cooked and elegantly presented.
Additionally, the service we received was of the highest standard. The staff was warm, attentive, and wonderfully knowledgeable about their dishes, ensuring a seamless dining experience from start to finish. Their personalized recommendations genuinely enhanced our meal, making us feel both cared for and valued.
In summary, Il Cantuccio a Nerano is a remarkable restaurant, a true pearl of Italy's culinary scene. The mix of excellent food, superb service, and the captivating sea view create a gastronomic symphony that resonates with all who have the pleasure of dining there. We wholeheartedly recommend it to any seafood lover or anyone looking to savor the true essence of Italian cuisine. Trust us; you won't be...
Read moreSadly it has become a tourist trap - I would stay away. Have been a few times earlier, last visit was 2 years ago and I had been very happy every time. I went 2 days ago with 4 friends from Norway, I recommended it based on previous experiences. Such a big dissapointment. For apetizer: 5 mouthfulls of melenzane parmeggiano, 5 slizes of mozzarella, 5 slizes of tomatoe, 5 fiori di zuccini, one burrata and a small plate of fried squid they charged us 80 EUR! It's a rip off! One of my friends asked for spagetti with seafood (which was not on the menu, but they had no problem making it) they charged 50 EUR. It is pathetic. Another one of the Amalfi Coast's very nice restaurants have fallen and let it self be a tourist trap. Food was absolutely not worth the price, just plain food - nothing special. Franco greeted our table by saying if you are not happy, I will pay. I wish we had said we were not happy. I wonder if he had offered to pay for our lunch. We found it somehow charming when he greeted our table. But that is just another gimmik. He greets every table like that - another tourist "thing". And then, they have started to play "YMCA" every day, when the restaurant is full around lunch time. WHY??? Another way to try to be cool? Why not play something Italian, let the tourists get the Italian feeling..? Everything on the Coast is loosing it's authenticity and I find it very sad. Il Cantuccio has lost it, lost what it used to be - a beautiful local restaurant, serving local food with local atmosphere. I am sad. And I will not go back. We felt cheated, and that we had waisted a lot of money. And I felt really bad for bringing my...
Read moreIt's very pretty, the performance entertaining, and overwhelming. The staff come in fast and loud suggesting menu items as you're settling in at the table. Little did we know they were not suggesting ideas, they were essentially telling us what they would be bringing to the table, you don't get a chance to think or object. Oh and you'll be paying a pretty penny for it. The price was outrageous($90pp), especially for food that was fine, not awesome, fine. The boat co we came in with was supposed to feed us, but didn't and when we stopped in Positano we asked the driver should we just get lunch while we're exploring? He told us do not eat lunch here, I'm taking you to Nerano, a special restaurant... They are in cahoots big time.(Boat staff came into the restaurant to eat and clearly were at least friends if not family) We weren't the first to get played(read their Google reviews once back home), and since you are on a boat, in the sun, drinking and getting hungry you won't have time to research this place prior to being served up to them. Others will get played too. A massive bummer to what could have been a nice lunch in a very...
