Absolutely Terrible. 1 star is too many for these people. Do not visit this place. I was travelling through Italy with a friend during the summer and visited this place to have a drink. The older couple running the place told us as we arrived that they speak English. We tied our dog outside and left our rucksacks next to the dog. The man seeming to be in charge then began shouting at us that we cant leave our things there. Upon trying to calm him down and explaining that we don't want a problem, he became even more aggressive and started shouting in front of all the other customers that 'this is the problem' pointing to our bags and silent sleeping dog. He was also talking to other customers in the middle of their meals shaking his head and clearly talking negatively about us. The other customers at this point looked just as shocked as us. We then quickly finshed our drinks feeling extremely stunned, confused and not welcome. Just before leaving my friend tried to use the toilet, which prompted Mr Hospitality to fly back out from behind the bar and scream at us that we're not even customers and thus can't use the toilet. Absolutely baffled, we took our things and made for the exit. Just before leaving my friend told the man and woman that this was the worst place we have visited in the whole of Italy and that they have treated us extremely badly, to which they both replied that neither of them speak any English... We arrived in Massa without an idea of where to enjoy a lunch by the sea. When we happened upon this gem. We had arrived 20 mins earlier than their normal serving hours for lunch but we were sat at a table, a menu brought over for us to peruse. Let me just say it was some of the best seafood dishes we have had in a while and we live in the area. The primi selections of lasagnette with zucchini & gamberoni (absolutely divine; light and flavorful with shredded zucchini and scrimp in a light broth with tomatoes). My partner had spaghetti with black ink and vongole, let's just say he was in heaven. A side note all pastas are made in house! The secondi were just as good; the fish al forno was cooked to perfection and my fritto misto included all the favourites! We will definitely return. This is clearly a favourite amongst people as all tables except ours had reservations and clearly a family...

Ubicato di fronte all'hotel Excelsior lo stabilimento è suddiviso in area spiaggia ed area ristorante - bar apparentemente gestite da soggetti diversi. Siamo rimasti, in due coppie, a Marina di Massa 9 giorni ed abbiamo scelto per comodità questa spiaggia fronte hotel, tra l'altro più cara di quelle adiacenti. La spiaggia è pulita e le distanze Covid sono rispettate, per contro non si contano i venditori extracomunitari che propongono, anche con insistenza, tutto il falso possibile sotto gli occhi per nulla vigili dei gestori che si disinteressano del problema. L'area ristorante - bar è gestita da due signori (signori ?!?!) sulla settantina coadiuvati da alcune gentili ragazze che servono ai tavoli e che salvano "capre e cavoli". Affermo questo perchè purtroppo le note dolenti riguardano questa area "risto" ed in particolare il soggetto visibile in foto, che riconoscereste anche al buio, che in modo assai svogliato si occupa di prendere gli ordinativi senza un minimo di cortesia, con mascherina pressochè sempre abbassata e con comportamenti poco consoni che mostrano un buon grado di maleducazione e cafonaggine, come già evidenziato in altre recensioni. Visto l'andazzo, dal terzo giorno siamo andati a pranzare all'adiacente ristorante dei bagni Tirreno, dove abbiamo ritrovato la Toscana che abbiamo sempre conosciuto. Tra l'altro, abbiamo notato in più occasioni che il comportamento del suddetto cambia quando ha a che fare con clienti abitudinari, diventa di un lecchismo da baci e abbracci e per questo ci siamo domandati perchè non avessero riservato l'accesso solo agli abitudinari invece di gestire anche i turisti inviati dagli hotel e quindi "di passaggio". Ulteriore nota di demerito il fatto che nei giorni festivi l'area ristorante è un "bolgione" ed è sfruttato ogni angolo, a discapito delle distanze di sicurezza; ma i controlli dove sono quando occorrono? Ovviamente abbiamo fatto le nostre rimostranze alla reception dell' hotel Excelsior sentendoci rispondere che eravamo solo gli ultimi e non gli unici ad esserci lamentati, quindi nulla da aggiungere !!!
