This restaurant cheated my family, and it deserves to be put out of business. Do not go here under ANY circumstances.
My family of 3 people came here to have a small dessert after we had dinner in the center of Milan. The dessert was tiny, but cost €7 and didn’t come with any ice cream or whipped cream (as one would expect). Furthermore, there was pistachio shell on top, which was unpleasant to find in nearly every bite.
But the truly awful part of this experience were the servers. Even though they took away our silverware, water glasses, and napkins before we even ordered, they charged €3 cover charge PER PERSON. Cover charges are meant to account for bread, water glasses, silverware, and napkins and should therefore only be applied to full meals. But this was truly outrageous. We sat in the restaurant for maybe 20 minutes and only ordered a dessert, and they charged us for bread??!! It even says on the dinner menu that the cover charge is for bread. But instead, our tiny dessert became €9 EXTRA because of these charges.
When we confronted them about this absurd charge, they very rudely said they were “doing us a favor” by letting us eat in their restaurant and that they needed to charge the cover charge for their “tablecloths and chairs”. There are so many problems with this statement. First, we didn’t break their chairs or ruin their tablecloths. Second, even if they are trying to make up some of their costs, there is no way that their chairs or tablecloths are so expensive that they get to charge €3 PER PERSON. Third, we didn’t get any bread (not that we would have wanted any, but that is what they state the cover charge is for anyways). Fourth, if only 1 of us had come to eat dessert, for example, their costs are the EXACT same, so it doesn’t make sense to charge more just because two more people also sat at the table. Lastly, WE are actually doing THEM a favor by giving them business, so they should be thankful for that. They are not doing us a favor by seating us. There is absolutely no reason that a tiny tiny dessert should cost as €7 PLUS €9.
After confronting our server several times about this injustice, we asked to speak to a manager, but the server insisted that the manager wasn’t there.
The bottom line is that NO ONE should EVER eat at this horrific restaurant, and they need to make this right. I am absolutely livid about...
